I want to remove and clean the idle control valves since I’ve heard doing so can help with occasional low idle.

Is there anything to do other than removing the nut holding the bracket and then disconnecting the hoses?

Another question ( since I don’t know how the valve works) do I just use MAF cleaner and spray inside each end until clean?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, disconnect the wire connector. To clean the internals, plug/cap the side port and, holding the valve upright, spray your favourite cleaner / degreaser in until the chamber is about 3/4 full; then rapidly twist the valve left-right until you start hearing clear clicking from the valve (there is a rotating air metering disc inside which can get stuck).

Once its *completely* dry spray some high quality *liquid* lubricant in. An aerosol gun lube would be perfect.

I never had to remove the bracket. Just removed the hose clamps, unplugged it and wrestled it out. Not easy but it comes out. I sprayed MAF cleaner in them first to clean out then used a light spray of Boeshield T-9 spray lubricant.
Idle wasn’t bad before but it seems to idle slightly better. I’m happy with it anyway.

If you need to replace them, the same Bosch part number was used on the 2001 Hyundai Tiburon or something like that. Just Google the part number and you will find it. The Hyundai part is about 1/3 rd the price of the one in the box with a horse on it.

Yup. I checked my log book and that is the part number. I got one in Canada for $229.00 a few years ago. I tried cleaning the valve but with limited results. I also had issues with the connector. Later I replaced the second one as well because it was behaving poorly. It's really embarrassing to have your engine stall at a stop sign, especially in a not so subtle car.

    Very design here in Europe.
But for me it is Loewe, not the same company.
