On behalf of a friend :

Can anyone confirm how does the handbrake assembly cover come off ?

Friend has the P light on without brake so he'd like to access the little switch to try resetting it

    TIA

I am guessing the 575 is like other models. If that is the case then just twist and pull, the handle is glued on...

Thanks but this is the leather covered 'box' which also includes the seat memory and the gas & trunk lids witches

The cover pictured in the 575 manual is not what I find in my car. My cover is a complete box and must move forward eventually over the handbrake lever. How is the cover fixed in place?

Glad to help. Some experience with cars and service manuals that make a habit of leaving helpful details out didn't hurt. There had to be a tab or similar retaining it as they only mentioned the one screw.
I also might have read something on the forum somewhere too. It helps when members pay it forward, makes owning these cars possible. So many here have done so for me.
