Yes, Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari broke down yesterday - https://metro.co.uk/2018/06/04/lewis-hamilton-looks-bored-waits-tow-truck-million-pound-ferrari-breaks-7602308/ A white LaFerrari Aperta, in LA area somewhere.
"The guy – who is rumoured to be leaving Mercedes for team Ferrari in the F1 league – is said to be worth $260 million (£195.5 million)" Why be in the 3rd quickest Ferrari when you can be in the 1st?
That’s what he crashed in Monaco the other year. Don’t believe there was ever a reason but I bet I can guess; probably distracted I expect he has rather nice collection of garages and cars around the world.
Probably he unplugged the battery tender to plug the hairdryer and give that latest touch before taking off to Monaco, and forgot to put it back. Everyone know that LaFerraris can't be unplugged for long. Damages the battery.
Like the story says: a first world problem. The car probably got stranded for something stupid. I once had a car get stranded when all the clutch fluid leaked out after the dealer failed to tighten the drain plug. Frustrating and slightly embarrasing.
He has an Aperta now, too? Did he get invited by Ferrari for it or was it second hand? For that matter, was his coupe second hand or new by invite? It seems odd the MB driver is using a competitor's car. I read an article about how he wears clothes that don't sponsor him and MB and Hugo Boss are not happy. Lol that's kinda funny and I like that he doesn't form to whatever the sponsors want him to be. https://www.news.com.au/sport/motorsport/formula-one/lewis-hamilton-doesnt-always-play-by-mercedes-rules/news-story/c9d59c1d6c90d6ee824b6d15d453e0a6
He seems to spend a lot of time there. His red LaFerrari couple appears to be a US market car, too, just like this Aperta (side marker lights).
"The guy – who is rumoured to be leaving Mercedes for team Ferrari in the F1 league – is said to be worth $260 million (£195.5 million), so we’re hardly expecting him to be losing too much sleep over the repair bill." Never heard that claim; sounds way too far fetched. Vettel isn't going to relinquish top dog and Hamilton's got too much of an ego to play second fiddle to him.
I would think that with a price tag well over $2.5M, this Ferrari comes with a comprehensive warranty cover.
Any car can break down, but it's bad advert for a luxury carmaker when it makes headlines like in this case. You can understand supercars crashing and being destroyed by incompetent drivers, but here, it's a car fault, and on a vehicle that costs so much !
No I'm being serious. LaFerrari's must be the most unreliable Ferrari's since the 70's. Everyone who looks at them knows this.
That's an old article. He's wearing Tommy H. stuff a lot these days. Hilfiger is a sponsor to the MB team.
A major reason behind his switch to MB was control of his own image/branding. Maccy did not allow it.
