On the basis of these renders.........tomorrow when I go to my local Audi dealer.........I'm requesting my deposit back The back end = cool The side = meh The front end = NFW! IMHO Audi is heading for some deep **** with their SUV's Great Audi interiors ain't gonna be enuf to keep me in the fold.......
That's a strange way to look at a deposit. I have always viewed deposits as non-refundable commitments, whereas it seems a lot of people nowadays seem to view them as small recallable interest free loans to signify seriousness. All the best, Andrew.
OTOH, I think your viewpoint is equally strange.....why would I purchase a product I don't want/like? The deposit contract (in this case at least) says nothing about non-refundability; it's less than 5% of the estimated final price; it's nothing more than a somewhat more serious "I'll buy one if/when you get one" proposal. Unless the product is a total dog, with no sales, the dealer won't even notice my non-purchase; he'll happily sell it to the next guy in line (especially with a new release). Anyway, if it will make you feel any better, I talked to the sales manager a bit ago, and he offered that I wait til they actually have one in the building; we'll look at it, and then I can stay or walk, with no hard feelings on their part. (He thinks it will be a major hit with their target, and he will happily sell mine to the next guy). (I think I just said that.......) He thinks I'll be smitten by the new interior anyway....... Now if we were talking a $350K super duper something, doubtless the 'deal' might have been different up front....... I'm not in that buyer class.
A couple of additional points occur to me: the last 2 Audi's I purchased were both specced in very detailed fashion, including Audi Exclusive options. In both cases my advance deposit was quite substantial, as I was ordering a very specific car; perhaps not easily sold to 'the next guy' as a dealer-specced car would be.... In those cases I'm sure the mice-type on the deposit was quite clear about refundability/not. In both cases the specific model had not previously been available, so there was still some element of risk to me as to whether I would want the car or not, but my commitment ($$$$) was pretty strong at that point......
More musical chairs. Maybe they didn't like the Cullinan. https://www.carscoops.com/2018/06/rolls-royce-design-boss-giles-taylor-exits-abruptly/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very novel. Here is a link contained within the article that shows the 103EX from other angles for those curious like myself. Looks like the front wheels are encased in a type of swiveling "ball joint." Rear wheels might be the same which could possibly enable 4-wheel steering. https://www.carscoops.com/2016/10/rolls-royce-103ex-concept-makes-grand/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is an oil sands mining truck used in Alberta. A tire is 13+ feet in diameter and costs about $50,000 each.

The rear end of the Vision Coupe looks like it could have been a Ferrari in an earlier interation. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beautiful! And with an interior that isn't cold, neon, and clinical but is rich, warm, and inviting! Yes, Mazda, YES!!! All the best, Andrew. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think they get it. Maybe with all the ugly designs they will fill a much needed niche!! But who knows as some people like ugly, lets face it. So maybe this wonderful looking design will be a miss with the general public?? We will see. If we are lucky everyone will copy them before it even gets to production.

Obviously it was designed for 'on street parking in Rome'. After a while it fits right in there, where that design doesn't look a bit out of place
Lookin' good! Now that you planted the seed, the profile does look Mustangish. Notice that they are going for exhaust vents on the rear quarters and bumper like Toyota, Lexus, and Honda.
