Not that I did the work, but... I just picked up the car from the shop were it had

    a) the full engine out 5 year belt service,
    b) refurbished/powder coated the valve covers,
    c) detailed the engine bay,
    d) removed the aftermarket phone, alarm, kill switch, and radar detector (didn't even know it was in he car) and associated wiring a relays they had added,
    e) a new custom aluminum/carbon fiber lined tray made to fix in the hole where the phone had been - the hole was larger than the stock tray and coin holder.
    f) and of course a nice wash and wax.

Very glad to have her back as I really missed driving her !!

    Hi ,

Sorry for my ignorance but what the oil accumulator for? Is it some sort of oil catch tank w/c I usually see in vintage racing cars? Do are cars need it? Or it came standard w/ our Mondial ?

    Thanks in advance ,

Trying to get this '90 in shape. Removed the knee padding on the bottom of the dash on drivers side, and fashioned a piece of upholstered trim to cover the holes. Repaired broken tips on side vents. Started chasing problem on release on fuel door. Appears to be bad solenoid so I'll need to fashion another as original part is NLA. So many little things, then get the top replaced.

Well I’ve had the car a week and already started taking it apart. Found a power steering puddle and coolant puddle under the car. My first thought was loose connectors since it just had an engine out service. Did find the power steering leak but not the coolant leak yet. Took out MAFS and cleaned them, they were filthy, the filaments and screens were black. And cleaned a bunch of stuff while I was in there.

Towed her home this weekend (Sunday).

Was attending a great show in the DFW area -- The All British and European Car Day.

She sprung an oil leak on the way in -- the driver side cam seal started poring oil on the exhaust. Called my adult son, and we fixed that shortly with some RTV. Good enough to get home we thought.

However, when starting her up to test the fix, the front bank of cylinders refused to light off. Thanks to lots of skilled help at the show, we diagnosed it as a bad rotor in the front bank distributor. Had a pin-hole burned in it.

Not wanting to driver her home and dump raw fuel into the cats, we decided to go get a uhaul trailer and tow her the 30 miles home.

She's now resting peacefully in the garage, awaiting the new rotors I've ordered. Should be back up and running on all 8 by Friday.

I think the metal fingers are just shaped differently to allow easier movement between gears. Haven’t tried it yet.

Changed the oil and filter and charged the A/C system with some R-12 I was lucky enough to find for a great price.

Checked all the other fluids too.

Now she is serviced and cool for the Florida summer driving season.

Installed the Hill Engineering pedal set. Debating on getting the dead pedal but I don’t want to drill holes into the floor.

    Hi ,

My mechanic replaced the Clutch Master Cylinder and the Clutch Hose located driver side near the transmission w/c had blistered and had micro leaks . Got the master cylinder AW ITALIA ( Bendix Brand) the hose I had it fabricated in a hydraulic hose specialist / vendor . I also recharge AC Freon ( R134 ) as well w/c started to blow hot air last week . It’s was charged last Jan 2018 . Upon start up I noted that there was a misfire . Turned out that one lead wire from the distributor ( nearest to the passenger compartment ) came loose , mechanic reinserted it and the car went VROOM!.

    Best regard ,

    Luigi

I finally got mine working, after 10 years totally stored, and before that only 500 miles or so during the prior 13 years...

Already put 200 miles on it in a few days and just TODAY dared to put it to 7k RPM in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd....what an audio delight!!!!!
