Tried Wahlburgers today for the first time. Not bad, better than The Burger lounge.

After your last thread, plus posts in the "What's for Dinner" thread, I've given myself completely over to homemade smashed burgers. The last burger I ate other than my own was at a Guy Fieri joint on a cruise ship - greasy, nauseating.

Well yeah, nothing beats a sous vide burger, made at home but sometimes yo gotta go with the flow. The choice we had was Burger Lounge and Wahlburgers. I had been to the BL and found it to be meh so that's how it happened. I had a mushroom burger that had some good savory tomato jam on it.

I've wanted to try Wahlburgers ever since I caught their reality show one day by accident..... They opened one in Toronto, so its just a matter of time if successful Vancouver gets one too...... I'm a big fan of burgers.... Here the best fast food burgers are Fatburgers, the food is good and the bonus is they serve alcohol.

Interestingly, they just opened a Wahlburgers in my neck of the woods late last year: https://www.wahlburgersrestaurant.com/locations/alabama

I haven't been there yet, but am looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, there are no Fatburgers anywhere near me. For Spring Break, I ate at Shake Shack in Orlando and enjoyed it. Otherwise, my regular is Red Robin.

I like Red Robin except for the ones here in Canada. Here the restaurants are treating health department guidelines as law and won't do a medium rare burger. All restaurants cook the crap out of their burgers.

The wife and I were driving out in East Texas this morning. We didn't stop in this time, but Dairy Palace in Canton is one is our favorite places. Locally owned and operated burger joint. Great ice cream. And, they seem to be very active in the local community.

Another great place. Butcher shop and burger bar.

This is another mom & pop shop we've enjoyed. Spurlock's in Anna.

In fact, we took our first drive in the Cali here!

I can see where that would be a turnoff. I tried Elevation Burger in Houston and their organic beef is pretty lean and dry anyway, but they overcooked it so much it was tasteless. At the Red Robin I visit, they always ask "Pink" or "No Pink".

That color is pure class. Love it.

A burger out is usually a treat for me and I try to go to a local bar. I haven't had one over the past two months though. Last chain burger I had was Shake Shack and wasn't overly impressed. Best burger I think I've ever had was at Dumont Burger in Williamsburg.

My most recent burger data point = I had a five guys yesterday for the first time in years just to remind myself of their quality level...and...meh. Nothing special.

Thanks. She's a dream to drive.

Speaking of burgers in Brooklyn. As a kid there was a joint called Burgerama on Ft Hamilton Parkway. Every Saturday we'd walk to my grandma's house, and pass Burgerama. Smelled awesome. They had crinkle cut fries. Every now and then my mom would treat my bro and I to a burger and fries. [emoji39]
