    I'd like to remove my AC knobs to re position the pointers so they align with minimum and max. Also, on the rear AC controls, the fan and temp level plates are reversed, see below. How do I get the knobs off? I've tried pulling but I'm scared to break the knob, or worse the control. Is there another way, or should I stop being neurotic and leave them as is.

    I have the older style knobs. On those, there is a tiny allen screw on the side. Have a look - maybe yours are the same. If not, does the plastic cap in the face prise out?

    Correct - there’s a small allen screw (difficult to see) on the side that serves as a lock. Just loosen the bolt some and the knob should easily pop out... no need to apply any force.
