How many has there been

Many threads cover this but for the first years only uneven numbers for road cars so current s/n (approx 225000) is high

 

The serial number is 17 characters long so it could be well into the millions.

 

All cars' VIN numbers are 17 characters...

 

If the current serial number is about 225000, the total number built would be about 190000

 

This is correct, about 190k as of 2018

You can take Sheehan's math here:

And add up the public sales figures since then. You get about 190k

 

I don’t know the answer but the Ferrari dealer that I’m building a relationship with told me that last year Porsche made more cars in that one year than the total number of cars that Ferrari has ever built.

That used to be true some time ago but isn't now.

Also the chassis numbers for Ferraris currently being built are around 238000 rather than 225000 mentioned above.

It's absolutely true, Porshe made almost 250,000 cars last year alone

Here is another mindblower:

It just takes Porsche 9 months to make the total number of cars that Ferrari made in 70 years. I mean they just celebrated the 1 millionth 911 last year.
