Hot off the bench ...a DEFY chronometer!

The chronograph seconds hand is slightly blurred as it goes around 1x every second. The upper balance wheel (at 10 o'clock) only runs when the stopwatch is activated.

Thanks! Yeah, it's 44 mm wide without the crown, 15 mm thick, but it looks fine on my small wrist.

The case is actually titanium so it is very light (111.4 gm). The 36,000 bpm movement is also semi-skeletonized, see-though on the left side. The chronograph itself is 10X faster, at 360,000 bpm. That's why the 2nd balance wheel and separate power reserve is required.

It represents a technological jump, an interesting watch. Other DEFY models have been released, more are being planned.

    OOOPS!

My bad, that should be 36,000 VpH and 360,000 VpH instead of 36,000 bpm and 360,000 bpm! I accidentally used minutes instead of hours!

Additionally, I'm not an expert on this but Zenith prefers to use "vibrations per hour" (VpH) instead of "beats per hour" (BPH), possibly because they want to emphasize their new DEFY LAB escapement vibrates rather than the swinging back-and-forth motion of the traditional balance wheel.

Here's a link to a treatise on the DEFY LAB escapement "...The oscillator of the ZO 342 calibre combines high frequency (15Hz or 108,000 vibrations per hour...". It's quite incredible stuff.. That's 108,000 VpH or 3X as fast as the conventional balance wheel escapement in my DEFY El Primero 21.

No Bill, I’m not an ornithologist and have no training in the field either. I was simply moved to compassion toward this helpless creature who otherwise wouldn’t have survived two more hours.

As a matter of fact I released him this past Wednesday. Somewhat earlier than I anticipated, but he was growing more and more impatient as the days went by. I brought him outside on the lawn in order for him to familiarize with the surrounding environment in preparation of his maiden flight; within minutes he was joined by some of his peers and he left with them.

    Good luck and Godspeed.

Question, I have been perusing this forum for years now, and do not recall seeing Ebel watches pictured.
Have I missed any, or are they not a relevant manufacturer? I have an Ebel sport model (can’t remember the exact model name); have not posted a pic because I’m not proficient at that yet. I like the watch, comfortable on the wrist, functions well, and gets the occasional positive comment.

All class!! This was my first choice of Rolex, but it looks a little too small on my wrist so I had to settle for the Deepsea Blue.

Great watch man, thanks for sharing.
