hello everyone, I hope this hasn’t been done here before and I’ve missed the thread post but I’d love to hear people’s garage - 3 cars all Ferrari or not - with details and reasons, I’ll start with mine as an opener: 2. 2014 Ferrari 458 Spider - this was the first car I bought. She’s called Lola. Not sure why except all my cars have names beginning with L as my late father called all his cars Lucy. Lola is Grigio Silverstone over Sabbia and the interior is a little special with quilted seats in contrasting charcoal. I love driving Lola because it’s an adrenalin rush and taking the revs to 9,000 makes her howl like a banshee. I’ve had hundreds of cars, come great ones, but she’s my first mid-engined sports car and it’s a special experience. I now have one criticism to what I thought was my perfect car. The exhaust isn’t loud enough having driven my F12, so I’ll have the valves opened. Overall, an amazing car which draws admiring looks and corners lie it’s on rails. 2. 1973 Dino 246 GTS - I’ve always wanted a Dino. I think ever since I saw the movie, 11 Harrowhouse, where Candice Bergen drives one. I was about 18 and I’m not sure which was more attractive in my eyes back then - the car or her - but it set my love affair going. I named my son Dino too and so I’m delighted my concours level car can be handed down to him one day. She is called Luna. Luna is Grigio Ferro Metalizzato which is a great historic colour with bulls blood red interior. The car started life in Rosso / Mero as most did but I prefer the current colour scheme. I love to drive this car so much as it’s from an era of beauty and style I love. 1973 is my wife’s birth year and all women love Dino curves apparently, so she loves it too. It also make an amazing retro sound from the fantastic V6. 3. 2015 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta - so after buying a V8 and V6 I had to have a V12. I don’t like the new Ferrari turbo engines at all - driven a 488 and GTC4 Lusso T and both sound emasculated albeit they are great cars. Drove a Daytona but I wanted a modern ultimate V12 and the F12 I have to say is the ultimate Ferrari to me. Leo is the car James Bond would have. Leo is Nero Daytona over Cuoio and so elegant and sophisticated where the 458 is exhilerating. She also gets more admiring comments and glances than the 458 Spider. Leo is the ultimate grand tourer, comfortable and stylish sports car but 99% of the attraction is the mesmerizing exhaust sound. I just had the valves opened by taking off the vacuum tubes and it’s the best thing I ever did. Motorway cruising is about the same noise but the town and lane driving is epic with that wail that sounds like an F1 car. Lola is jealous now as Leo is the go-to car. I’m lucky to have a triple garage I can house these beauties safely and securely and still park the daily RR SVR daily driver outside. I’ll try to attach some photos.
I think this has been done, but since new cars come out all the time...my ultimate 3 car garage: 1. 488 Pista - daily driver. Under warranty and includes service for like 7 years or so. It is one of the few new cars of any manufacturer I think looks good. 2. F40 - weekend driver. I had a poster of it on the wall as a kid and I have been for a ride in one (Simon^2's before selling) and I still remember it vividly. Unbelievable car. 3. F50 GT - track car. It's my favorite Fcar ever.
3 is very hard. 1) Zonda 760 RS 2) F50 3) LaFerrari But really I need a Carrera GT (F50 just wins...)and GTC4Lusso V12 (people carrier/ultimate trans continental cruiser + Ferrari daily) in there also.
Sticking with Ferrari, I'll go with... 1989-1992 Ferrari 348tb: Simply the most gorgeous car ever produced. Manual transmission, manual steering, conventional suspension, mid-engined Ferrari V8 sports car... what's not to like? 1996-2001 Ferrari 550 Maranello: Front-engined V12 GT car. Great, classy, timeless looks, a manual transmission, lots of power, and a great sound. 1973-1974 Ferrari 308 GT4: Great-looking 2+2. I've loved every one I've seen. Could it be used as a daily driver? If we branch out a bit into other marques, I might throw a McLaren 570S in there somewhere. Perhaps it'd bump the GT4 and get daily driver duty. All the best, Andrew.
Ferrari 288 GTO - My favorite car of all time Ferrari Portofino - Daily driver perfection Lamborghini Urus - When I need to carry more people or pick things up from the store
Ultimate garage threads have been done. But since a 3-car garage is my sweet spot, I’ll play. 1. Ferrari race car: current F355 Challenge. Arm can be twisted if replaced by 330P3/4 #0856. 2. Porsche race car: 910...or 911GT1 if #0856 is next to it. Having a 60s open-top racecar along with a street-registered 90s racecar is a desirable combo for me. 3. Porsche street car: 911 with rally bits. A 911 is a good balance of performance, utilitarian, take-anywhere sporty car. If more room is needed, a period-raced Cayenne Transyberria rally that has been reconverted for street use. In a 3-car garage, I can likely fit in a Ducati 851/888 Corsa - preferably Raymond Roche- or Doug Polen-raced in period bike.
Ferraris to actually use? (Meaning not 3 GTOs which I sell and sail into the sunset...) Covered headlight Series I PF Cab F50 FF Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Warning: Smart aleck response coming. Forget three in the garage, how about one for the road? https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1428528370600377 Best regards, Robert
I already have mine but I’m cheating 86 TR, with a 308 glass car on a car lift , the new Audi rs3 to have fun on those nice days , and the Audi Q7 to go get top soil for the backyard with some golf clubs .
Hmmm...I’d have to give it some thought...but it would consist of a pure exotic...maybe Ford GT, Aventador or LaF, a track weapon like a Scud or GT3 or vintage car like Dino 246, and a sedan DD...Audi rs7, something like that.
365gtc/4 Caterham 420 Db11 This afternoon’s list anyway. But also ok with mondial, wrangler, and s4rs.
Hé didn’t limit the numbers of motorbikes, planes, helicopters and yachts you can have at the same time though. 1) Bugatti Type 35 2) Stanley Steamer Vanderbilt Cup racer 3) Ferrari 412 F1 car. But I also want a Jaguar XJR 9, so I would have to toss a coin on one of them
3 is definitely not enough but after a long time of head scratching mine would probably be.... 1 - V12 Lusso 2 - F50 3- Laf aperta
1. 250 GT California Spyder (SWB or LWB but prefer a late LWB, 1627GT a late LWB alloy car with no side vents would be perfect.) 2. 1956 410 Sport, but they only made 3 open ones. Or a 375 MM with Pininfarina spyder body. 3. Tough call, true daily driver would be a 1995 Corniche S, old body style with turbo engine. Or 512 BB that has never been Federalized.
1. Ferrari F40. If money was no object, it's just so raw. 2, 1964 Renault Alpine A110. This is essentially my "affordable" dream car. I'll own one someday. I love the sound and interior, and the history. 3. 1956 Maserati A6G 2000 Zagato. It would be between this, a DB4GT, 375MM PF and a 8V Supersonic. I chose the Maser because....picklefork!
The flooring came with the house. It's gone now. It looks pretty but it's not flame retardant and would stain as soon as something was spilled on it. We had the carpet tiles removed and did epoxy. So still looks great, but a much better choice.
Blessed to love the cars I currently own. But, if someone else is cutting the checks & we're day dreaming while waiting for the French GP to start.... 1. This 599 SA Aperta for styling and profiling!
