    Has anyone found a better solution regarding the trickle charger in the FF, you need to remove a panel before you can connect it WTF, who at Ferrari thought this was a good design!

    One twist screw , I can just imagine you with a flat tire.

    In my case, no screw even - just a pull out hatch. Filling up with gas requires the same effort. How easy do they have to make it?

    The main thing about it is the durability of the panel after repeated use. Another thread has a forum member sending the panel to a company in the northeast to have it modified in a way so the plug is exposed without having to remove the panel.

    Sorry on worldly wise gentlemen...Otakki hit the nail on the head. With repeated pulling the panel off and on the attatchment points have broken.
    I too remember some one modifying it so that the panel didn't need to be pulled on and off, that was what I was looking for.

    someone on here had a local leather guy (johanns son) cut a whole in the panel and it looked great. i have not gotten around to do it but you can fund the pic if u seearch

    My apologies. From the photos on the thread that ttforcefed linked, it looks like I have a different hatch from the one in the link - I can see why you might want to mod it. Entropy mentioned that early cars with full leather boot (trunk) and DVD player have different hatches. My car qualifies on all 3 criteria and the hatch is well built and easy to use. No mods needed.
