More drama today, with more likely tomorrow! This is my 10th World Cup, and I don't recall ever seeing one with this many exciting and dramatic finishes. Korea - WOW! What a way to go out!

3 more stoppage time goals today. The ratio of stoppage time goals is up almost 3-fold since WC 2010. Looks like FIFA has found a nice and tidy way to interject excitement by adding 1-2 extra minutes per game.

There has always been extra minutes in football games. Sometimes it’s a minute, sometimes it’s 9 minutes as we saw in the Korea-Germany game today. It all depends on the game itself and how many times they have to pause gameplay for fouls and what not.

There have been a lot of freaky goals this year. And a lot of "own goals".

France beating Argentina - what an unexpected achievement :)
After the ridiculous match against Denmark, this was a real game - and in the end France won, kudos to them.

Argentina limped in. France pretty much kicked their butts despite the score.

French stars Griezman and Giroud shamefully missed a few opportunities, but Mbappe was really great.

Mexico blew it. After beating Germany they screwed up and limped into the next round in 2nd place forcing them to play Brazil

Brazil dominated today. The first goal was a thing of beauty.

Japan-Belgium was the best match of the tournament. Hands down.

Wow I feel sorry for Japan. Great game but the first Belgium goal was the fluke of the century.

Columbia was robbed. The first penalty for England was a joke call.

The play before the tying goal was pretty amazing. Almost kicked it into the top corner from waaaaay out. Then the corner tied it on another good Colombian play

I am sick and tired of matches ending on Penalty shots. And, too much FAKERY with every little tap.

As I've said, at this level matches should not be decided on shootouts. The match should continue until someone scores, even if it takes 200 minutes!

(And if you do have shootouts, the spot where the shooter has to strike the ball should be further away from the goal.)

So Wimbledon-style, which coincidentally is going on now. 200 minute match...maybe a 3 day match like Wimbledon had in 2010. :)

They should have instant replay for acting an injury and the penalize the person. Some of these cry babies look like amatuers. It hurts the sport as it makes it look faker than wrestling!
