Wanted Porsche Boxster RS60

I'm looking for a Boxster RS60, 6 speed only, no Tiptronic. Prefer red interior, but will consider black. Price according to condition, history, options, etc. Dealer or private party.

Hi Jack. Have friend with a silver/red '08 with 38,000 miles on it. Extremely nice condition. 6MT trans.

 

Might want to mention how many miles is too many for your consideration.

 

Thanks, Andrew. Condition and service history are paramount, but I would consider any car under 60,000 miles, all other things being acceptable.

 

IMS bearing problem was finally fixed in 2009?

 

Actually I believe it was 2008. I researched it pretty thoroughly as the RS60 is 2008 only. Admittedly, the things I've read have been somewhat contradictory.

 

I checked on it. Dealer fairly clueless. Before I could get a question out I got the pro forma sales schpiel about how many high line cars they've sold on the web, door-to-door shipping, etc.

I asked if they had the original wheels. "If there's a picture of them we have them." There's no picture of them. "Then we don't have them. We only have what's in the pictures."

Does it have an owner's manual, any other documents? "If there's a picture of them we have them."

There's no picture of the owner's manual. "You can get one for about $20 on eBay."

Are there any service and ownership records? "There's a CarFax on the web site." That's a report, not a record.

I really hate it when enthusiast cars fall into the clutches of these types of dealers who don't even know the most basic things about their inventory.

Yeah, it seems like a good enough car, fairly priced, but I can't deal with a seller I have no confidence in.

 

Odds are, the car is overpriced. You know, being one of dem erotic cars and all.

 

I have one...51,000 Miles ...rare red top car also...have some records but not all...car had a clear bra from new...Two tires are new, other two are almost new...fresh service with new brakes...pm me, thanks , stuart
