Hello, I did search this subject, but could not find a definitive answer: Were the shields on the the Ferrari 360 recessed when originally equipped for this car, or did they not offer recessed shields? I have a 360 with shields, but they are not recessed, and I want to confirm if they were recessed on the 360, or was that an option for different models?

Factory shields were recessed in the fenders. If your shields are not recessed, they are aftermarket.

    Michael,
I didn't answer your original question - I think all modern models have recessed factory shields. Can't think of any that do not. The 360s definitely are.

However, there is a factory authorized body shop in LA that will recess the fenders. Premier Auto. When I spoke to them several yeas ago, the cost was about $8,000.
The other way to tell is to check the window sticker or build sheet, they'll be listed on both.

If they came from factory they are always recessed and yes the 360 came with shields from the factory. Otherwise, they are an aftermarket add on.

All factory shields are recessed on every model since before Y2K. Yours are aftermarket. To add shields correctly, you need to get a new front clip recessed for them.

My '03 has the recessed shields. If it didn't I would run without them. Adding the stick on ones seems kind of cheesy to me on such a nice car. Just my .02

Scuderia shields are a factory option.

They are not on all vehicles

They are recessed, because the fenders are stamped to accommodate them.

Wow, you are one brave hombre. Nice job.
I’m glad mine has them because I wouldn’t do that to get them.

I had good quality stick on shields on my 360 and they looked great. The factory recess is only about half the shield thickness anyway so the shields still sit quite proud, by about the same amount as the thick vinyl stick ons.

The Yoshields were metal, identical in color and design, and thinner than stock, so they protrude by the same amount as OEM that are recessed. But, they’re no longer available. You really could not tell unless you looked closely.
