Well I reckon a carpark in Coolum is worth at least $100k based on storage costs of more than $3000 pa and 3% interest rates...

Sad news for everyone - true 'reporters' are pretty much an endangered species.

    Too true Karen.

Most just "talking heads" and just there for their looks. Both male and female.

They haven't got them out yet and I hear the viz is zero making it even more dangerous than normal trying to get kids out on scuba who have never done it and then having to do it with no visability

FFS John,I'm sure this rescue will probably generate some of the most innovative ways to get this mob to the surface the world has ever seen.....as did the Beaconsfield mine rescue.

They'll need to send in some XBOX consoles with Fortnite subscriptions and they'll be fine

FFS Simon, if you've ever dived in zero viz as an adult WITH training and experience you'll know this is no cake walk for these kids ...... they are very young and easily frightened by the things that can go wrong

Saying that, there are a few Aussie divers on the rescue team who would have hopefully plenty of experience.

I'd prefer to hear that the navy clearance divers were involved along with some of the other nations specialist divers, we don't need any John Wayne "heroes" involved, just the real deal.

One of the things I experienced in a "white-out" situation was disorientation with nothing to reference your position with.

I read the caves are difficult to navigate so I suppose they will run ropes the entire length for everyone to keep on the right path

FFs John, they're could be other options.

One option is to wait for the water to subside.

    This ^^^ is a quote.

They did get to where they are all by themselves without loosing anyone.

    ...as is this..

Or they could avoid the water all together
Cochrane said thousands of soldiers have been scouring the mountain looking for ventilation shafts that could provide a back door to the cave.

I heard on the ABC radio that they are pumping out the water ...... I like that option the best.

The water will be murky right now but over time it will settle ...... easily stirred up though by a floundering child with no buoyancy control

I hope they find another way out, will save a lot of grief
