Working from home today, so in between conference calls & paperwork, doing prep work for pizza tonight.

We have beaucoup grape tomatoes, so I whipped up some homemade, from scratch tomato sauce. Cut up tomatoes, added garlic powder, S&P, oregano, a dash of paprika, salt. Blitzed it. Passed it through a course strainer to get rid of skin and seeds.

Before. The Mauviel is great for this. Even heat from the thick copper. Non -reactive stainless steel lining.

After. Far be it from me to brag, but this tastes dang good! Easy too. May have to stop giving away our excess maters & whip up a larger batch.

I'm making big macs at home..... Safeway had those frozen prime rib hamburger patties on sale. So I bought a box. Bought an onion that I'll chop up extra fine. Also some shredded lettuce, etc. Its one step up from real McDonalds.

Apparently, it's an Austrian company. Already rolled out & comes with parchment. Un-roll, put on toppings, chuck it on a pizza stone. I even kept the parchment underneath, so transfer to/from the oven was a snap. $3 a pop at Kroger. And, now I downloaded a $1-off coupon from their website. [emoji857]

I'm going to try our Kroger owned store one day. But its hard for me to switch from Safeway with their gas rewards. I want to try homemade pizza. Smoked salmon is reasonable here, despite being tourist oriented.

I think the stuff I had last night is exclusively at Kroger family stores from what I can see.

If push comes to shove, the Pillsbury thin crust pizza dough is not bad...T

How are you going to get the interior of a 2" chop done before the exterior is charred in a 500 F Egg? Sear then close the dampers?

I’ll back off the heat plus not directly over the fire. Use that diffuser thing.

Edit: And rain is real close so going for it!

^Corn doesn't look overdone. Tasty chops. Tomatoes look awesome too.

Salmon burgers on the gasser. Toasted some bread that we got free at Kroger. Topped with leftover dill cream from the pizza last night.

I'll look for the pizza dough...…. I took my mother to her COPD support group. After we had sushi/sashimi and rolls. I'm still full from the late lunch. So that's going to be dinner now too!

Its a good trip... I like Washington State a lot.

Doing a Costco run.... plan is to get a pre-cooked chicken and make pesto for dinner. Might leave for Eastern Washington State tonight. I kind of want to leave tomorrow though, depends on my parents.

Lucky you, Ron! We tried to grow dill back in Memphis when we lived there, but never had any luck. So, we use this stuff. I store it in the refrigerator; better IMO than the other dry stuff we've tried...T

I love how Indian restaurants sequester the various dishes in a little metal dish. Looks so festive! Must be a nightmare for the person who gets to do the dishes though. :) What's the stuff on the plate? Looks like a Japanese gyoza...T
