Tom, I'm soooo jealous! My wife and I watch HK religiously and I've been wanting to try the Beef Wellington. Was it as good as it looks?

Hi Chip...It was very good. The meat was butter tender, and cooked to ideal temp. The mushroom filling was very good too. I didn't really enjoy the pastry, it was a tad dry, I thought, and didn't mesh with the flavor of the meat and the mushrooms. The reduction sauce, however, was excellent. Service was exemplary. The wines that went with the prix fixe were very good too. The red that came with the Wellington was great. Bad pic below.

Looks top shelf. I was in Ketchikan last year as part of a cruise. Interesting place, all of Alaska really.

We stopped off in Scottsdale, on our way home, to see friends. Ate at an Italian place called La Locanda, near Old Town. Not bad. No pics though. I had the papardelle with bolognese...T

Id like to try Hells Kitchen. Even though I don't watch the show anymore.

Have my mothers COPD support group today. By the time its out and get to the Japanese restaurant its 4pm. So I'll have an early sushi/sashimi dinner tonight.

Got some sushi, sashimi and a few rolls. Oh and two cones. I'm stuffed...…. Still need to run up and do some banking. Might hit DQ for dessert. Bored with Blizzards, might try a banana split.

Well worth it, Max. The service was better than the food, and the food was very good.

Still on the road. Stopped at a diner in Tucumcari, New Mexico - Del's.

I made some goat burgers, polenta, and baby bellas done like the Renaissance Fair shrooms. I didn’t take a pic but after it cooled down last evening I made some tea. Dried herbal loose tea I mean. I did make a frig jar of it for tomorrow but haven't tried it yet. I had been harvesting things from the garden and dehydrating them the last couple days.

Hope this will fit in here ok by you guys. Coming up, when around extended family, tea after dinner or with some cards or just conversation around the table as nighttime fell was a tradition. I take comfort in my tea sessions.

Horehound, Stevia leaf, strawberries (wife dried those a while back), Calendula petals, Yarrow leaf, and Mallow.

The horehound is just in time for hayfever season. Corn pollen is killing my eyes and stressing my lungs. Hh is a good lung tonic and gall bladder/liver cleanser(bitter greens),Yarrow astringent, mallow high antioxodant, stevia the sweetener. I will add some Mate (not home grown) to one of the two jars made. Mate mix for a pick me up tea, the other for nearing sleep time.

I have to run up to my bank. Since it closes at 6pm tonight. I'll go around 5pm and get dinner while out. Thinking of going for pizza or get a lasagna again.

Intetesting stuff, Ron. What are Renaissance Fair mushrooms?!?

Finally back home. Something simple, easy and not too rich - chicken soup.
Onions, celery, bell pepper, S&P, garlic powder, tofu (it was hanging out in the freezer), and lentils.

Good tip I found online for freezing tofu, for those of you who like the stuff. Place on a plate, cover with paper towels, press down on it with a pot or pan to remove liquid. Then cut into cubes; place the tofu cubes on a plate, freeze, then put the frozen cubes in a baggie. So, cut then freeze rather than freeze then cut. [emoji2] Very handy since the wife and I can't really use an entire block of tofu for a single meal.

    Enjoying with this wine.

I thought it was a Portuguese red. Apparently, it's a white wine from Campania, Italy!

I'm going to meet the chiropractor gal for dessert at the French bistro near my house at 10pm. They make a yummy apple crumble topped with real vanilla ice cream.

10 pm? My wife and I used to do late night dinner/dessert dates back when we were courting. Now, I'm usually snoozing by 10 pm. Max...if you can find some good quality cinnamon, sprinkle some on. It'll go good with the crumble and the ice cream.

Inspired by an earlier post. Grilled whole fish!

    Shrimp as the back up.

Details later once I drink a few bottles of Gatorade. It was about 105 F in the backyard. [emoji91][emoji91]
