  1. Your are going to start sticking to the facts & just that, if you want to comment. I don't need to read anything more about calling someone a liar, comparison to Mother Teresa etc. Joe's going to stop doing the same . It is far easier for me to just hit the ban button & your gone. I think you have a lot to offer, want to keep you around & have really avoided doing just that. I get it that you don't like Joe & Joe does not like you. Ok. The rest of us (ok most) really just want to talk about the cars. Im putting my foot down, so its your call if you want to stay and play.

By the way, not to be pedantic, but, I'm not trying to assert he was miserable, he was, I posted Giancarlo Barbieri's testimony on-the-record affirming this, as do many many people who interacted with him and have recounted their stories over the years. There is no disputing it, and in Barbieri's case, nobody should shoot the messenger. That said, perhaps there were reasons for Bobby's demeanor, and note that I posted that he built my Miura SV engine well, I was happy with the work. I also said, none of this disparages Bobby’s memory one Iota or takes away from his work and what he accomplished for Lamborghini, it’s simply an accurate recollection of how Bobby chose to be.

Knowing that he did not entertain people just to be social, pray tell us exactly what are the many dealings you have had with Bobby, please be specific, for example, I had the engine of Miura SV 4870 rebuilt by him, what did he do for you and upon what specific car?

Also, if in fact Bob Wallace accurately described the story you assert, then you should have no problem going on public record and telling us exactly what he said:

When did he give these images out?
What images did he give out?
How many images did he give out?
Did he state he gave them out to me?
When did he tell you this story?

Just want to be clear on what transpired.

Agreed, and to that end I have been posting verifiable data to clear up this question of the Wallace images, none of which were ever given to me by Bobby or anyone else, nor were any Wallace images used in my book, that much I can prove as detailed above.

Ill leave it at this... Bob Wallace, told me, point blank that he provided Joe Sackey with his personal images . He said 100% that he had been trying to contact Joe for quite sometime and that Joe was avoiding him and never returned the images. Obviously, unfortunately I cannot get Bob to collaborate this. But I will say this, despite Joes subtle inflections that Bob was a miserable man, he had a bright side. But if he didn't like you, he let you know it.

    That is unfortunate.

Interestingly, you were also unable to corroborate the other story about the sale.

Despite his moods, I think Bobby was a straight-shooter, so, I'll say this, I am certain he never said what you claim, and given the fact that I actually never asked for nor received any images from him, that leaves the obvious conclusion.

whao joe, go easy on me !

Im awful on the details and no he didnt not tell me personally since i wasnt close to him. yes i did hear it from somebody else. is it so wrong that bob was pissed after loosing some of his personal photos and memories after loaning them out to assist a writer?

ive met him a couple of times, the first time i was after the F1 race in 91 at his shop. the 2nd time many years later we spoke about urraco rallye "bob" and he was more the gracious in speaking in depth and length about the attributes and faults of the urraco platform as a race/track car in which i wont get into here.

never once was he impatient, scowling or demeaning. he offered info on a one off vehicle that only a handful very few know about since it was his personal project. im forever grateful that he took the time to share it with me. more importantly it was great advice for myself personally.

ive heard of his stern reputation before. i suppose im not one of his typical customers with a thick wallet who wants to eat off the bottom of their car, expects ice cold AC in the blistering heat then wonder why their plugs keep fouling on PCH rush hour traffic in their vintage lambo.

what do u think...is he smiling in this photo? hard to tell right? :)

ok here is what we know about bob. he has smiled at least once, spoke more than 3 words at a time (at least to me) and he can be grumpy at times.

Does anyone know or have contact details for Steve Warbey (spelling) from Stevenage, Hitchin, Herts who owned 4863 and SV 4830 in 1976?

With the celebrity provenance and Polo restoration, I would expect it to exceed 2MM USD. We shall see...

I was thinking around the same. Not sure the provenance will add much based on past RS sales as mentioned previously.

That would be nice for earlier non-SV Miura variants, it's about time a stellar example was used as the market benchmark

Judging by the lady's coat, I'm guessing late 1971 or early 1972!

Indeed, although the first owner's name will draw some interest, I think the final number will be based on the quality of the car's restoration

there are 2x Miura SV factory painted with Verde Rio Metallizzato : #5006 you mentionned but also #5106 which is one of the last SV made

#5106 is ex Ron Edwards in USA but now residing in Europe in the hands of one the top Bulls collectors… no necessity to mention his name for discretion !
