I'm having problems understanding your message, Julius. "best pieces available"??? "Clean Modis"??? Is this a European version of Carfax? "Later version welcome"??? Later/newer model preferred?
Carfax is an independent history of your car's mileage year by year based on governmental (?) records (which shows if the odometer has been tampered with). It also tells you if your car has been in a major accident. It also tells you if your car has been part of a company fleet.
It may show these things zero guarentees. Then only if items are reported and carfax gets ahold of it. My euro car only has a mileage report after being imported. After that just reports of service and registrations. If the state doesn't do anual inspections or smog theres minimal mileage on a carfax. Odometers are really only there for warranty purposes. After that time frame most ststes don't even bother reporting mileage, Michigan is one. Doesnt matter what I put on the title when I transfer it, if its an older car They list it as mileage exempt so does florida.
Understood... but the original poster's message is still indecipherable. Carfax may be irrelevant until we know what a "Modis" is. I just Googled it and only got one relevant hit for Modis and that was for automotive code readers.

Ian - Modis is the factory's system to track all cars - so if you go into a dealer they can tell you the original spec of your car by entering the chassis no into Modis
