The recesses are there, the plastic reflectors have simply fallen out! I've seen that before, note that this car is pretty original.

Thank you, more on this to come.

See, now if Simon had a QV he wouldn't have to stretch the hose over to the DS (driver's side) like that.

But the main thing is he is having fun!

Here is a closeup of this Downdraft's rear lens.

I believe we once had a somewhat spirited debate about this topic!

Please explain, and what post are you referring to?

  11. I'm puzzled as well. I really like seeing the cars used vs sitting under a cover, out of sight.

Exactly, can't wait to hear the explanation for this latest Trolling episode.

There is a fraternity of Countach owners out there who regularly use their cars and it's good for innumerable reasons to share this, meanwhile I think the quality of both the images and the content in this thread is excellent, no cheesiness whatsoever.

Here is another of Paul's GLA12923 parked in a field near Goodwood for the Festival of Speed - an event I highly recommend

I always struggle with this "grille" in the rear sills. It really spoils the original design of the car (IMHO).

Now we are talking. Cool setting. My cheesy comment i am shure was understood by most. I am referring to the bottom picture. Hopefully a girl was driving the car. The grocery store image was really cool. No problem with grocery shopping.

3 people actually stated they don't understand your post, and it makes no sense in this day & age. There’s nothing cheesy about the pic of the MNN Downdraft being used for shopping, it’s a good post, depicting an enthusiast enjoying his car in the way he likes. I’ve often taken my personal cars out shopping, Countachs, Miuras, GTOs, F40s, 930s, not every drive is a triple-digit blast on the highway, it’s great to incorporate these Classic Supercars into normal life. Rest assured, in 2018, guys go shopping too.

The owner of this Countach obviously feels secure enough with the car to use it often, it’s seen all around Cheshire in the UK (quite different from Naples by the way), yet another example of a Downdraft that debunks the erroneous myth that they are temperamental, always perpetrated by those who don't have one. Not to speak for JLA12395’s owner in case he reads this, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t give a Flying F what you think about how he uses his personal property ;)

Meanwhile, as opposed to disparaging how somebody chooses to use his Countach, the vast majority who come here simply want to talk about the car in a positive, constructive, factual, useful & fun manner, to use your expression, let’s keep it that way.

    Yeah, let's.

Meanwhile, here is someone's cellphone pic of JLA12395 in Manchester traffic recently

I recall reading about the Downdraft in mystical terms in the 1986 Car & Driver article. It talked about what the car does to people in regular settings.

Over the last 20 years I’ve used my Countach quite a bit to grocery/shop.

The most fun I’ve ever had was having a really exotic car parked in an everyday setting. Me wheeling groceries to the Alpine Downdraft or the ‘62 LeMans winner parked at a bayou fried fish shack. Much more interesting to me, and I think many others.
