Will Lewis be fined or penalized for his actions in qualifying?

He should but he won't. The stewards already said they were NOT going to impose any fines or penalties.

 

Are there specific rules about keeping your can on the track when knowing it's no longer under it's own power? Or, are there specific rules about getting out of your car and pushing it? I thought I heard Martin Brundle mention certain rules as such during the broadcast, but he didn't elaborate.

Obviously the latter. I posted in the other thread. A driver is to keep his belt on at all times on a live track. He was still driving and took the belts off, then got out of a still driving car on a live track (!?). Bear in mind just 2 weeks ago in F2 (same stewards) Ferruci was fined 60K for driving with a phone in his hand in the PADDOCK, that wasn't even anywear near a live track....

It was again a very selfish act by Lewis. And he'll remain to go unpunished. Not even a reprimand, or suspended fine. It's a joke.

 

The stewards won't punish Hamilton just to anoy his critics.

 

When was the last time a driver got fined or penalised for doing any of the following in F1:

1) unstrapping the safety harness while the car was in motion during a session or race on track
2) disconnecting the wheel while the car was in motion during a session or race on track
3) leaving the car while the car was in motion during a session or race on track
And finally
4) pushing the vehicle during a session or race on track. I know 50yrs ago, an italian driver got killed for pushing his car....but cannot recall someone getting fined or penalized for pushing the car.

 

But aren't these in violation of FIA regulations? I seem to remember that Jean-Pierre Beltoise received some sort of censure for the Ignazio Giunti accident in Argentina. It was not a F1 race.

 

Feel what you will about Hamilton, seeing a driver PUSH their vehicle in attempt to avert whatever loss was inspiring.

 

And if another car were to hit the near stationary car on the racing circuit--would that be inspiring?

 

It was reckless at best, he was exposed and could have been injured. What would have happened had the car rolled away from him before he or anyone could stop it???

At a minimum some sort of grid penalty I would think.

Whats the answer, are you allowed to push your car on a green track in qualifying??

 

What he did on an active track it’s plain stupid...the engineer told him several times to stop the car...glad nobody got hurt by his sissy tantrum...

 

According to the sporting regulations: "there's no crying in Formula 1."

Ten place grid penalty for the next three races.

 

Of course he should be penalised. He could while still in motion, park his car in a safe place, instead of exposing himself and do some hopeless whining circus. What an idiot. But of course he's a Brit. And so is the other fulltime moron Charlie Whiting. It's about time this FIA board goes on holiday with their undeserved millions, and never come back.

 

The great Alain Prost did it in 1986 and was able to finish 6th.

 

The boy who got craned back onto the track when his car hydroplaned back in Fuji in yesteryear will not be punished as he is rewarded for his wrongdoings.

I hope Elton never wins any championship hereafter. If we can't, I'd rather see RB win. I hope he gets more and more miserable with each passing year. Worst racing personality of all time, that'd be his deserving place in history.

 

Let us not forget that his stupidity & selfishness also exposed the marshalls who had to try to remove him & the car from the live track needlessly

 

Pushing the car when you're in the pit lane entry is heroic. Trying the same when you're 2 or 3 km away is being detached from reality.

Anyway, I think that a reprimand would be enough.

Not allowed to push your own car during qualifying/race, only in the pitlane. Certainly not a MILE from home on a live qualifying track, intentionally hindering others' qualifying laps. A car retiring is nothing that can be done about, nor an unintentional spin, so wrecked laps because of that, well it's just a risk they all have isn't it. But some loon pushing his car towards an unsighted, high speed (T12 is flat!) corner is lunacy.

He will not be fined but he should...
1.) Just as speeding in the pitlane his action put others (mashalls) into danger and should be fined. Not that money makes a difference but at least they should show that they care....
2.) Seb was given a 5-place grid penalty for ruining other drivers hot lap....Lewis actions caused a yellow flag that lasted longer than needed if he just went to a safe place. This also affected other drivers

 

And yet not even a mention in press reports that this incident is being looked into!
