    Hmmmmmm ........hold position ....
So this is the top tier of motor sports racing ?

I will watch NASCAR today, where the winner is determined by the driver in the car ......
Not by who is talking to you from the pits.

Being a Ferrari F1 fan with hopes of winning championship was beautiful summed up in this race. Disappointing.

The fickled hand of fortune left fingerprints all over this race. Very dramatic....crazy!!!

As I said after Silverstone, Ferrari is what is stopping Ferrari right now. Vettel should rightfully be in command of the WDC, but finds himself in second at the halfway point. I don’t know...you only get so many missed opportunities.

Good recovery race for Hamilton. Was patient, kept his head down and was quick in the changing conditions. Taking care of the tires while moving through the field was the key for him.

Max was able to be there at the end after an ambitious pit decision

Break all the rules you want Elton Ham-Dashian. Everyone, the entire sport of F1, the entire team of Mercedes is all slave to your celebrity. Oh you sad, little one? Here is a win for you.

Mmmmm... a had a strange déjà-vu twice today.
    1) Hockenheim 2010 ("Fernando is faster than you...")
    2) 2nd half of the 2017 season: the Scuderia throwing it all away...

I have to believe ANY team that suddenly found themselves in the position of 1-2 like in the circumstances of this race would've said the same thing and ordered their drivers to chill and bring both cars home. If they had come together they would've been the laughing stock of the world.

Lots of Ferrari/Vettel fans in there...but the German Merc contingent is not small - been that way since McLaren Mercedes days...

    1) Bottas had a horrendous pitstop that cost him an enormous amount of time. And the lead
    2) Bottas attacked lewis and was then promptly told to hold station and not attack lewis
    3) you are here debating that Bottas did not get told to hold station based on something Toto said whenever, and something some ex F1 driver has said, which completely contradicts what was actually said during the race

    Jog on.

All true but then they should stop lying about it. This is team Hamilton and Bottas is kept small with yearly contracts. They are NOT better than Ferrari but complain when Ferrari does that.

I'm disregarding this result unless he gets a penalty for cutting the track. Others have all received penalties from 5 - 10 seconds, even stop and go's, for cutting the track in that manner. FIA should hang their heads in shame.

If he would drive for Mercedes the press department would already set up a statement why it was not his but the teams fault [emoji6]

You would have to assume Ferrari is taking this up with the FIA right? I know nothing will ever happen to thier Golden god, but something has to be said.

    IDIOTIC!!! HUMILLIATING!! WASTED POINTS!!!

We can't throw away easy points like these! Recovering 17 points with this car is impossible without some help from lady luck, and I'm afraid she already helped us yesterday.

Good on the team, terrible for anyone wanting to watch a race rather than a parade.

Bottas is done, he’ll never win a wdc, he cemented his own fate.

Yep, there is little hope in my mind that we make that up. This very well could have been a lock down for Lou Lou to win the championship

hamilton does not get a penalty for blatant error.
hamilton gets bottas blocked in 2nd, yes kraftwerk we all heard the order that you apparently missed.
hamilton does not have to pass any of the top 5 to win.

the only guy i feel good and bad for is kimi.
the kimster is almost the only honest bloke out there on any given sunday and has to fight for everything and rarely gets a break, and then he gets told to move over.

and to top it all off they want to replace him with that useless leclerc who came in dead last. how frustrating!
