Overly optimistic about Mercedes. They are still stronger overall and today will only bolster their morale.

You'd think Bottas - if he wanted want to send a bit of message about the "unfairness of it all" - might want to to finish just a bit closer than ~5 seconds behind...and maybe not let Lewis rip all those fast laps at the end. :D

It's disappointing to see the gloom and doom from the faithful. Cheer up, we have half a season to go, and the car seems to have good pace & reliability. And, if they don't win, we still have our awesome Ferrari to drive and cry in. I hear tell that tears are actually quite good for F-car leather.
    Forza Ferrari!!

Ferrari ****s Kimi in favor of Vettel. Vettel can't drive because it is a little damp. Ferrari remains a ****ing joke.

Well, I got up early and did my workout, ate breakfast, and fell asleep! Slept right through the race. I haven't decided if that was lucky. Hard to believe Seb crashed with zero pressure.

Something being left out of the incidents in the closing stages: conditions were changing and some areas of the track were slippery and chaos ensued. I think Seb got into the slick stuff and lost his car. Merc knew that a toe-to-toe battle in those conditions could only end in tears.

Merc’s pitlane gaffe should result in a 5 sec time penalty. I believe it may, but that will give the win to VB. We’ll see how it plays out

Well, it wasn't quite zero pressure. Things were legitimately starting get tense at that point - track conditions were poor, and Vettel couldn't afford to just cruise. Lewis was still well back, but he was on the preferred tires and taking out not small chunks of time.

Sometimes we simply screw up. In fact Elton Ham-Dashian queen of all that is F1 has made several boneheaded moves himself. All drivers have and do on occasion.

The effect of 'corporate' racing today. Clearly the words of Toto are a joke. 'Calm it down' after the safety car. Bottas was not allowed to compete.
Vettel crashes and no one else has an issue on the same part of the track. He is no Schumi and never will be. I have not much faith in him with his outburst and anger issues and now today. Keep Kimi and replace Vettel with Leclerc :) Its F1 racing. Corporate aversion to risk.....and all that comes with it.

Interesting post above with Kimi and a penalty near the pit entrance is 2016. I have to think the memory of Ferrari will be long enough to possibly look at a challenge to LH and his attempt to pit today.

Interesting race overall. If Ferrari have no other issues than a driver who crashes then Hungary should be an easy win. So I thought today as well lol :)

Kimi had a great race. Way too early stop, no idea what they where doing there from the get go....then gets told to move over (fine). But from all Ferrari drivers/contenders for the seat, he was the one that brought it home. No errors. Vettel quite obviously was extremely unlucky, I'm not blaming him for what happened...we saw how cautious he was taking it and the car still slid off. Leclerc was off god knows how many times. He makes quite a few errors in weekends, but it goes unnoticed. Yet all we hear is he can't come soon enough. The hype train is thundering along over here, as usual. Put him in the haas for a season, as he ****ing needs it.

Seb’s crash was he strangest seemingly most uneventful crash I’ve ever seen. I don’t get it. Brain fade I guess.

I have not heard from anyone stating there is any mechanical issue with his car.

The season isn't over by a long shot. The result today is deeply saddening, Vettel was just managing the pace. Grabbed a mighty pole by over 2 tenths on a very short track.

The Scuderia cannot afford to give ANY points away. This should not have happened and unfortunately sits square on Seb’s shoulders. He should man up and make it right.

What faith anymore, when they throw away the championship this way? They have the best car, yet can't win! This isn't the first time. Can't drive in rain, what a joke!

Good luck dealing that 17 points, Vettel!
