I think you mean corn rows. What’s your problem/objection to his choice of hair style?

    Disagree.

Even Bottas conceded post-race that if he didn’t pull off his overtaking attempt during the very lap it went green after the safety car period, it wasn’t in the cards to happen thereafter.

He got up to 4th with ease. Easy in a car that's 2 seconds clear of the rest of the field. After that he won the lottery three times over. There was, once again, nothing special about the drive. Nothing. Yet it's being heralded as the drive of a lifetime.

I can’t stand him. His haircut is douchey and he’s a drama queen. Is he a great driver? Yea.
Can you be a great driver and still be a celebrity whiney *****? Yup.

Only because we had rain that mixed things up. It was going to be a Vettel processional win without the weather. Passing others who move out of the way is not racing but that is what we have in F1 currently. This applies to all 3 top teams as I stated earlier. This was not a heroic drive from anyone.

I wonder if F1 drivers laugh when people in forums say driving from the back of the field is easy as they sit on the couch and watch.

The backmarkers really made it easy for him.

May Petrov could take a page out of this book. (You know . . . . )

Well when you combine the cutsey double ear rings, the nose ring, the corn row hair extensions with the cute highlighting, the mascara, it all adds up to a hipster who is massively obsessed with himself.

No doubt he is a talented driver. Equally no doubt he is massively insecure and craving of attention.

No, I think they say, "wish I was driving a MB!". No one once tried to block him or get in the way, his car is faster and he passes them, pretty simple.

You forgot about the part where both Vettel and Kimi burned up their tires trying to keep Hamilton at bay while Ham was driving on 30 lap old softs.
This required K to take a pit stop at the safety car when V crashed. Vettel gave the race to Hamilton.

I don't think of it as a drive of a lifetime, but it is in his top 5.

And we learned earlier this year that in case they do not move aside Toto gives them a call to remind them that they are a customer team ;)

On the current F1 grid, there is a known hierarchy, like it or not. The top tier is MB, Ferrari and Red Bull. The second tier is HAAS and Renault. Then there's the rest. If you're outside the top tier, teams don't waste time racing the big guys because they know they can't win. Therefore, they save their tires, energy (KERS storage, etc.) for when they are battling within their current group. With that known, they get out of the way of the likes of Lewis and Daniel when they came through the field at Hockenheim.

True. But that doesn't make the overtakes they do impressive. With the DRS offering a huge speed difference it's easy for the top teams. This is not a criticism on the driver, it's more directed at commentators are fanboys that haven't a clue about the sport. A DRS pass in a car miles faster than anything else is not great racing, nor is there any skill involved.

As Bas said: that does not make the passing of them impressive when you know that you are unlikely more than a lap behind them....Lewis said it might be difficult to overtake at Hockenheim but it was not with all the cars apart from Ferrari, RB and the other Mercedes. And as far as I can see he did not overtake any of these cars. So all Lewis did was his "duty" and wait for the others to either screw their strategy (Max, Kimi), crash (Seb) or go out of the way (Valtteri). So as I said Lewis did everything right but it is not like he "achieved" that victory by "heroic" driving like his fans point out...It might be one of his "top 5 victories" (because unexpected) but most likey none of his "top 5 drives"...Exactly as in Silverstone where we saw that it does not make much difference whether you start 6th behind the top five cars or dead last, latest after half of the race you are 6th anyway. And for the other 5 cars you need luck and Lewis had it both in Silverstone and in Hockenheim....

So when either of the Ferrari should qualify 6th or less in any race I suggest they change the engine and every component possible and start from the back, there will be nothing or almost nothing lost!

PS: oh and I forgot that Lewis also did profit from the stupid rule that the drivers have to drive two different sets of tires and that those starting in top ten have to drive the tire from qualy...It is most likely that having the harder tire at the beginning with a loaded car and the softer with a lighter car at the end is the better strategy, but none of the top ten could do that because even RB had to use the ultras to get in Q3...Again not Lewis fault but another help on his way to the front and especially later in the race when he has the best tireof the one-stopper

I agree that it isn't impressive that they move through the field that quickly. I didn't state that. In fact, just the opposite.
