Seb is an idiot and will implode before long like he did last year

He's got the best car and he can't do the job he is paid to do

Seb didn't throw it away, he entered the turn very carefully but his rear brakes locked - probably a combination of damp surface and the energy "harvesting" software (remember that it's "brake by wire" which means the driver doesn't have complete control).

The rest was tyres strategy/pit stops and safety car. Elton only won because they told Bottas to back off.

And of course God was making a special effort to help him

    Fair enough.

From your last sentence I’ll assume you watched the end. I turned it off with half a lap to go as I knew I’d probably throw a chair at the telly if I had to watch / listen to Elton carrying on like a pork chop over his blind luck.

    PS. God is an idiot

    Neither can Kimi!

It is not over yet, been worse than this before.

Is Dan signing up today with R/B, or is he ready to jump into our team?

There's a lot of advantage in being the chosen No 1 driver, Ferrari also told Kimi to let Seb through. Bottas and Kimi can commiserate together.

btw the downshifts under braking are also done by computer. On a damp track the normal rule is to stay a gear higher and don't downshift until after you've rotated the car. Seb was just a passenger from the moment the rears locked at the first downshift. No doubt there is a "wet" setting to ease everything off, but with 80% of the track dry, he wouldn't have it set.

I loved Elton's comments at the post race "for those who don't know me, now you do". Clearly admitting to the fact that he's the guy who forbade a more competitive driver as a potential team mate for a known entity who is willing to follow team orders despite being faster and on fresher tyres.
WTF were Torro Rosso thinking with full wets for Gasly?!

The trouble with that is you feel like another one an hour later

Actually there's a "massage" place across the road, but too scared to go get an ACTUAL massage as my legs are killing me from all the walking and they might offer a happy ending I might not be able to refuse !!:cool:

Look at the results - if they'd given him a 5 second penalty it still would have been a Merc 1-2 and Seb would still be in the wall.

You can go off anywhere on a track and, as long as you check your mirrors and not obstruct anyone, rejoin.

Yeah but he didn't go off. He went down the pit lane and then decided to cut across the grass and rejoin the track.

his team told him to come in then to stay out. In a split second decision it's reasonable that he pulled back onto the circuit. I'm not an Elton fan, but I think the right call was made.

So the team tells him to come in and then out. It was still a dangerous move to make either way.
