Yep, they make watching f1 a farce. Bottas didn’t get anything despite two attempts at destroying another drivers race. Disgusting bias. You could lay money that if Kimi did it, or Seb, or the can guys even, they’d have been penalised big time.

Its worse here mate, with the possible exception of Autosport who at least try for some semblance of balance, sometimes. The daily and the nationals just give the Elton hype.

Like wise though the physical distance between Merc F1 and any Merc production facility is quite considerable, not like a certain Italian team.
Personally I think they should go to Germany.

Mercedes got a sweetheart deal to stay in f1, and were able to start design of their engines much earlier than anyone else. The components were as per Mercedes request along design channels they had planned already. This resulted in the farce of the last four seasons, where merc were ahead by a margin and development for everyone else was almost entirely frozen and no testing allowed (a few days testing is basically no testing)

It’s taken five years, but ferrari have finally caught up, by hook or by crook. Merc thought they would see out the current regs as champions every year, and now that we threaten that (merc clearly have more faith in our strategists than any Tifosi has) they are clutching at every straw to deflect us

They don’t care if they can try to get parts banned, drivers reprimanded, anything, as long as they don’t lose. If ferrari manage to win the title, expect Mercedes to protest the result and continue to argue into the new year so that it unbalances ferrari development of next years car and, if they did lose, next year merc will try to get it back by means fair or foul, it’s all the same to them

Seriously though how did Bottichello (my new name for him since he is LH's designated wingman and is only there to serve LH) escape a penalty? He misjudged his brakes and ran right into Seb and we were very lucky to escape a race ending puncture then he understeers right into the side of Ricciardo. It was so clumsy. This isn't Nascar dude. Yet...no penalty! Why? Because he gave the spot back? So what!

It's pretty obvious at this point that the Merc boys play by a different set of rules. LH has always had his own set (I think we all remember him being picked up by a tractor and put back on the track after he beached the car in the gravel at the Nurburgring in 2007), and when you couple it with Merc who already gets preferential treatment it starts to get really bad.

 

BOT didn't get a penalty for the clash with VET because neither driver was on the normal racing line though the corner. VET closed the door. Therefore it was deemed a racing incident.

BOT got a 10 sec penalty for hitting RIC which is exactly the same as RAI and VET got for hitting cars at the beginning of races.

 

Bottas crashed into Vettel, not the other way around, and he openly stated he drove too aggressively in his interview after the race. It was his fault, he should have backed out when he knew Vettel had he corner, but he didn’t.

I wasn’t aware he got a penalty for hitting ricciardo....is that the case? (If so, finally, merc get one penalty out of a possible dozen they deserved the last five races)

 

Neither was on their normal line so they crashed into each other. VET has a habit of taking risks he doesn't need to and he should have given BOT room. VET was past anyway.

That does not make sense at all....you say Vettel as "past anyway" but it is not Bottas fault when he drives into him....Why did Bottas keep his foot down "when Vettel was past anyway"???
