Fan is short for fanatic. Reason and decorum have nothing to do with fandom. Our guys are white knights, pure of spirit. The enemy - anyone not on the Scuderia - wear black hats, and are dirty, stinking cheaters! We just ain't proven it yet in a few cases. Everything else is heresy. I will now say a few Hail Mary's on your behalf for your blasphemy! [emoji2]

Lets see here Ferrari moves there mirrors and Mercedes has a sissy fit and gets a tiny winglet that might have changed the aero balance 0.0000001%. The FIA says that mirror mounts cannot be used for aero. Here come Mercedes with a "support" that even a blind person can see it is a turning vane yet the FIA does nothing.

Mercedes cannot come off the line cleanly so they claim that Ferrari is cheating with there MGU-K even after the FIA goes over it with a microscope.

Last year the FIA put a limit on oil consumption Ferrari, Renault, and Honda all comply yet what does Mercedes do? They release a engine upgrade early so they don't have to comply with the rule change.

I can keep going on but I have better things to do.

With all of the imbalances and outright cheats employed by Mercedes and the FIA, we haven’t time to list them all, there’s so many, along with the stewards totally obvious favouritism towards Mercedes and persecution of ferrari and any other team that dare upset the silver douches.

We’d have to agree, for the previous four years, the best of everything EXCEPT DRIVERS, Rosberg was ok but elton has always been a prick. This year, they have better ********, a better game face when telling lies, less scruples than ferrari, and pay a bigger bribe to FIA to make it all work for them

Given all that, who is THE BEST driver on the circuit right now, and how does one determine that?

Is it wins, points, poles? How they dress, their personality, their sexual preference? Their race, gender, height, attractiveness of their girlfriend or wife, or what?

What OBJECTIVE standard can we all use to determine, say, driver of the decade? Century? Lifetime of the series? I hear all the criticism of Hamilton, and none of it seems to center on his driving, it's all about his personality. Shocking news, lots of drivers, past and present are/were less than exciting. Less than savory. Less than ideal citizens. And maybe some of them weren't actually someone you'd like your daughter to date. But, at the end of the day, the only thing I can think of to judge a driver by is his record, and my eyeball test. Some guys wring every last bit of performance out of their cars. Some wring out just enough to win. Knowing the difference is important too.

IGNORE whatever nonsense you think the manufacturer is pulling (all of them do everything they can to push that envelope) and tell me which DRIVER is the best, and why.

Alonso, by a country mile, right now. Ricciardo is just a shade behind him as we haven’t experienced what he’s like under pressure. Vettel makes too many mistakes in stupid situations. Elton needs everything right in the car, he has no depth and can’t make a bad car win, so he’s fast when it’s right, a moaning git when it isn’t. Max is too immature but maybe maturing faster now, he will be a great if he keeps his head. Kimi is good but has lost a few tenths.

LeClerc shows talent, but we have to wait and see if it translates to a top car... Sainz looks like he will be in the better ten

Best car Ferrari on most tracks, best driver no way Jose! Elton’s a fast driver but couldn’t steer a less than perfect car to a win if his arse was on fire and the water was past the finish line. He needs constant guidance, constant validation, to be told how to work his steering wheel and controls..... no chance...... good driver, yes, best? Not a hope. The best driver wouldn’t have been beaten over a season (and close to being beaten over 2 others) by Nico Rosberg.... no one names him as their number one driver even of 2016 when he was champion, let alone the last decade

I absolutely think that Vettel has the makings of a great driver, but he seems to be feeling it too much, as Michael did of course in 2000, when he had a very untidy Japanese weekend to win the title, ending up finishing in the last possible place he could still win!

If he has a good summer, relaxes a bit, and they sort our strategists out (I’d do it for free, and bet I would make better calls), and sort out Kimi and make sure he is given rein to race but revert to Seb when required, then he can improve.

If he doesn’t, then I think Ricci must be given a chance. I think Alonso, while he’s the best driver, doesn’t help himself within the team and coming back to Ferrari might actually cause issues behind the scenes.

The last time I spoke to Colliani, and to Montezemolo, both were adamant ferrari would never approach elton..... I sincerely hope the toxic little diva is never ever on our shopping list because if we though Alonso caused a political fuss, imagine that tosspot let lose in front of the Italian media.... the good thing is they’d probably hang him by race three!

I'd like to see what Nando can do in this year's Ferrari. (Not gonna happen, though.)

I have - since quite some time - the feeling that Vettel will not win a prize with the Scuderia. He will get frustrated and it will all end in tears.

I think he is overdriving, and getting het up with it. He needs to relax a little, the Seb of red bull would be better. He would turn up, put on his music, and smash pole..... we have the car, he has to unlearn two seasons of second and third best and driving for damage limitation. Let it flow

Sid, my wife has gone over the 8 stone limit, not by much, in fact very little, does that mean I can't take her to an F1 race now? She still meets the European size 8 limit though, can I cut her some slack?

Well, it really depends. If she is fit, and prepared to let you ogle the size 6’s..... yeah....... if she is becoming disillusioned by her weight, then that could be the time you pretend there was only one ticket left, and take her sister/best friend/your secretary! Hehehehe

Euro size 8, remember, is a snip from US 10, so be careful, start switching her food to diet versions without her knowing, and whenever she goes to open a bag of chips, look at her in a disappointed puppy kind of way... her guilt is your friend!
