    Here's a tough one:

Due to butchered wiring by idiot stereo installers, some time before I took responsibility for my 84 308GTS QV, I ordered 2 new wiring harnesses from Ricambi for the driver and passenger doors. The passenger door install went fine and connectors seemed a 1:1 match. BUT, the driver's door is another matter. I am seeing a difference in some wiring colors and an extra connector that I don't know what to do with.

I also suspect that the power lock actuators may NOT be original and neither had the factory end connector AND they are too clean to be from 1984 and live in that environment.

Can anyone shed some light on whether or not this lock actuator (repeater) looks original and what these connectors go to (one is for the actuator but I don't know which one. I can also say that the connector with multiple conductors is live 12vdc. WTF?

The wiring diagram created by one of our members has not helped.

Have you accounted for the power mirrors?

Oh yes. That's a different connector on the harness. Works OK.

Can't tell from that angle, but it doesn't look OEM. I replaced mine because the pass side one started actuating by itself and then having an epileptic fit - I don't think it was black. I went and replaced both to a remote central locking system while I was in there - very convenient.

Yeah, I thought as much. Do you remember the brand you used? Thanks

YES, now that makes sense. There are two connectors for that one. Thank you for posting this. The search begins...

No, I just used a proprietary one from a reasonably high end car auto shop, but I installed it myself - don't trust those butchers. I think the important thing is to have a fairly small, unobtrusive fob - some of those things look like a grand piano hanging off your keyring

I'm going to look into Porsche actuators from that period. Bet they will be similar. Thanks.

I'd give BMW a look too; we share the same electric mirror components.

Yes, I have a BMW roundel on my mirror switch.

Pelican has one that looks like it could work as it has a 5 conductor connector.

Searching door lock actuator or door lock solenoid on Amazon brings up a variety of options-one or two might work.

I think Saab used to use the same actuators on the 900 series in the 80's.
