I've never seen any info on the "E" codes but interesting that your E2 decal w/ 930 includes a "J" at the bottom and 75.023 vs 74.124 on mine.

Does anyone know if there is a registry for 930 Turbo Carreras? ‘75-‘77

    Thanks

Perhaps the J on my one refers to it being a Japan spec vehicle.
Mine was built in 75...perhaps yours in 74?

Thanks for the kind words E_Man. I own 4 early Turbo's and love them all for different reasons. The adult inside me says I should thin the heard while the kid in me says keep them all! That said, I will drop you a message in the event you are interested, as the kind inside me screams Nooooo!

I guess I will ask one more time just in case someone has some insight. I did a search but could not come up with an answer.

Test-fitted the baby today, was a success. She clearly is a natural and enjoyed it. Missus shut us down though before we could go for a spin. :)

Unfortunately my car has aftermarket floormats. Where is the best source for some replicas of the originals - Tony at Autobahn ?
Also, the turbo script on the rear seat has completely faded/disintegrated. I noted that modern embroidery machines all stitch a thick „surrounding edge“ around a shape - which the original def did not have. Has anyone seen a turbo script redone closer to the original?

Light red is surprisingly rare. Mine has a light red leather interior, a nice mix of orange and red, and I rarely see reference to any others. Porsche offered Can Can red and lobster red at the same time, and they seem to have been far more common.

Attached is a pic of my car at a local Porsche fun run on Sunday. Having just bought a Cayman S, I was momentarily under the delusion that the Cayman was a great little go kart, until I pulled the 930 out of the garage.

    Your car looks great!

Until Ryan’s book, I didn’t realize that light red was also available in 1975 and 1976 and U.S. Turbo Carrera ‘76 #0011 was delivered with light red vs. russet leather. Can Can red was not available until 1981 when it replaced light red (and is a very different shade of red).

I believe this ’77 Turbo 930 Turbo Carrera is the same car in the Sotheby’s auction as I didn't see another Guards red 1977 Turbo with light red interior.

With red interiors as the brief conversation above, I can't resist posting some 77 Lobster red... It's a hard color to photograph as the color comes across different based on the light.

I have decided to put one of my two 930 3.0 up for sale ... probably not the best channel for interested buyers but I wanted to give it a shoot before turning to more established auction houses ...
Too many cars and too little time to enjoy them!
