I’ll take my FF to Fontana this weekend. First time with this car. I have fairly extensive track experience with a 997gt3. It will be a hot day. Any thought on what tire pressure i will have to drop to from standard setting? Obviously I’ll see how the car feels but some guideline numbers would be helpful. Thanks

Just curious, previous P0 or new P0 (PZ4)?

BTW, will you be putting on aftermarket rotors and pads? I would love for Girodisc to make a set for this car.

Don’t know...it’s a 15 and bought it from a dealer. I have just finished two sessions at Fontana, it’s 90 degrees, first one crazy understeer, drop pressure to 30-31psi hot got a little better but still very present. Engine, gearbox and brakes (stock) very good but this ain’t a track car (I knew that before hand). Just expected something more. Obviously the weight is a big factor. Also, switch everything off to see if without nannies it would be better but didn’t notice much of a difference. Being used to a porsche GT3 on track it’s really a different experience. Still love the FF but not for this.

Thanks for sharing your track experience. I find that setting the TP to factory spec when hot is a good start. Also take a look at your tire side walls

I have been contemplating getting my FF out on the track for a few sessions. I am concerned about the stock breaks, as this is a heavy car. My track car is a 996tt (stock calipers but Girodisc rotors and Padget pads). I was at Watkins Glen on Monday & Tuesday. Had my best laps ever one as low a 2:14 with a top speed on the back straight of 148mph.

Hopefully someone living near Washington can drop by Girodisc for them to do measurements on the rotors and pads so Girodisc can have a set available for FF/GTC4.

Follow up to the original post...almost two months later went for a canyon drive, felt crazy under steer again, stopped and looked at the tires...I am happy I didn't fall into the canyon...front completely gone to the cord, really surprised, also looks like most damage on the inside, too much negative camber? Bought car from a dealer it is bone stock. Rears time to change but not eaten alive. Put on new Michelin 4S, always liked these more than Pirellis, let's see how they do. Old tires did 9,500 miles, half a track day (Fontana) and a few canyon drives.

I guess that is what 2 tons, 650bhp and all wheel drive do to a car...not very pretty. Maybe it is also the driver...:)

Yikes, odd you wouldn’t have heard/felt the separation but at least you got it figured out before it was too late

Inner tire wear--probably more like due to in-toeing that is commonly dialed into performance cars' oem set up.

I went thru all 4 P Zeros, rotors and calipers in two tracking weekends in my wife's 2008 Maserati - funny the tires wore evenly and looked like slicks but we really pushed it - costs me $9,000 to put in back together including new plastic on the hood etc

As I mentioned in another post, I put a new set of FF Carbon ceramics and rotors and a 599 HGTE brake booster on my wife's Maserati last spring - why - who knows - I guess because I could and know the car will be passed down to my youngest daughter who is a trained terrorist on the track

I’d buy your daughter a cheap dedicated track car if that’s the case...more fun and less money long term...

Aren’t the brakes and rotors on the FF like $35,000 together?
