Countach 25th Anniversario

These are from our fantastic open-MSO, 579 mile car which was delivered new to Bill Pennington of Circus Circus in Reno, Nevada.

 

Hey Joe,
Can you comment on the bubble that forms under the paint in the middle of the rear wing? I have seen it on my fathers car and at least 2 others.

 

I'm not really the best person to ask about this as I've never diagnosed and effected repair of a Countach wing

Look specifically at post 16 (with another link) & you'll get an idea why moisture gets trapped inside, causing bubbles & corrosion.

 

Thank you! We've always wondered why it did that. Is it best to maintain the original state of it or repair it?

 

I guess it depends on the shape of the wing & effort to fix it.

In Monterey and was at the RM Sotheby’s today to view their lots. I took pics of the wing of the 88.5 Countach they had for this thread. I’ll post on the “wing” thread as well.

 

Years ago I posted a few articles about the stylish Mr K's 9-car garage in his basement which is fitted with a lift so he can elevate his beloved 25th Anniversario into the house, and send it back to the basement garage again.

Anyway, my source tells me that this is a special-order car in Canna Di Fucile Metallizzato (PPG 2463012) with Arancio interior, a one-off livery.

This looks like a newly delivered batch of painted body shells. Were they all now painted by an external contractor?

 

It looks that way, and yes, by 1990 I believe some of the painting was sublet.

Stopped by Volo Auto museum, (most cars on display are for sale,not shure reg the Countach,) pretty cool place in Volo, 45 min north west of Chicago. Red car ,white interior,personally never seen this combo on the Anniversary. Claimed low miles,famous owner,

There's one for sale if you want to add to your stable. They say it's Rosso Seviglia/Crème, but looks very white to me.

Agreed. That’s white for certain. Also, they’re asking crazy money, particularly given the car has over 30,000 miles on it.

 

I've seen one for even more money, only 7000 miles - but, it's an 87 QV that's been "upgraded" with all the Anniversary model bumpers, side skirts and vents. Blew me away.

 

What was the color combo? Is it still for sale?

The website doesn't seem good at taking down old ads (or the users aren't) - there's another car on there I'm pretty sure was sold years ago but still listed. So not sure if it's still available.

 

Very peculiar car. Highly modified. It’s a amalgamation of a QV and a Anniversary car. Who would do such a thing? What an insane creation.

 

My thoughts exactly - why take a relatively rare car and make it into one of the most prolific sellers in the range? Surely would have been more cost effective to just buy a 25th Anniversary model to begin with.
