Would someone point me to threads that discuss what battery is highly recommended for the F430?
I am looking for more recent threads (last couple of years) for up to date recommendation.

My Red Top Optima is terrible - and I am finally going to replace it after only 3 years (always on a Ctek tender).

My Ferrari dealer installed an Interstate in my 360 Spider just before I purchased it. No problems and always use my CTek.

I have Interstate. I’ve had it for four years now and no problems. Always on tender.

Optima batteries are junk, and have been junk for a out a decade now. Not even sure how they stay in business.

Interstate AGM. Check their catalogue for correct one to fit. Decent cost and good quality.

Mine died in the driveway on a Sunday afternoon. Got a Die Hard AGM from Sears as they were the only place open nearby. Works great!

Had Interstate for five years. Never had a problem. Replaced it because of age. Replaced it with the same battery. It’s now two years old and again, no problems. Also, it’s always on Ctek charger.

I decided on Interstate - the product codes are different from a few years ago. Need to decide on either:

    MTX-48/H6
    or
    MTZ-48/H6

The MTX and the MTZ have different dimensions. Which one will fit?

    MTX-48/H6 H6 760 950 120 70
    11 by 6 7/8 by 7 1/2

    MTZ-48/H6
    10 15/16 by 6 7/8 by 7 7/16

Any idea on if the positive and negative terminal are correct for the 430?

    thanks

I prefer odyssey batteries, I’ve had a lot of good luck with them.

I use an Odyssey PC925 in my 360, no problems so far but does seems to take longer to charge 100% than the interstate I had in their before. I really hated how cramped the battery compartment was with a full size battery.

most super small dry batteries thus far are frankly useless, been there done that, won't be doing it again, look up Mark Stewarts Bosch S5 recommendation

Interstate MT7-48/h6 was what Interetate recommended last year. Bought one.
    This fits perfectly.

MTZ-34R is what Interstate recommends now.

I’ll be getting the mtz. Interstate recommends the 34r but I think the H6 is a better fit since it’s just a hair smaller. It’s a tight fit and the extra few cm will help in the 430.

MTZ-34R is the one called out for the 430. Its a little taller and the threaded rods doesn't allow for the hold down bar to go across the top leading edge of the battery case but there are a couple of ridges molded into the casing that the bar catches further down. It cinched right up and isnt going anywhere. Plenty of clearance between the top posts and anything metal. No mods needed.

I just went out and I discovered my battery charger stopped working (no light) and my OEM battery from Jan. 2008 is dead. I have taken it out and will replace it tomorrow. It seems after reading these threads, I should either get the Odyssey 34R-PC1500T ($360) or the Interstate MTZ-34R ($255). Is one better then the other? Will one last longer (It was a PITA getting that battery out).
    Thanks for any responses
