HAHA... I (guess?) I got 99 points with the one point deduction being for not having a fire extinguisher. I saw fire extinguisher in their generic checklist. I assumed that meant for cars that originally came with them. The judge was not amused by me stating that I am very vigilant with maintenance (the FAA people would think I'm overzealous) and avoid "deathanol" fuel like the plague.

Flashback 1979, when trousers had bell-bottoms.

Andreas Birner has posted another great historic image.

This one shows the late Porsche racing driver Hans-Dieter Blatzheim @ one of the first ILOC meetings in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, Germany in 1979, with his new Bianco Countach LP400 S.

Blatzheim also owned Miura SVJ 4860, and historians will know he perished in his Porsche 917/10 @ the Castrol S of the Nüburgring Grand Prix circuit in August 1985

FWIW this set of images (& some others in the Borel book) show that the factory started color-coding the door mirrors upon request with the LP500S

Andreas is a very good friend of me and has access to a hugh collection of 1970s photos, mainly Ferrari.

As of SVJ 4860: After Blatzheim has died in his Porsche 917 the SVJ was sold to collector Hartmut Ibing from Düsseldof, Germany. He owned it only a brief period and sold it on within Germany.

Hahne > Blatzheim > Ibing > Kremer > Japan, correct?

    No. Correct is:

Hahne > Blatzheim > (by Blatzheim`s widow) Ibing > (via dealer Klaus Werner) unknown in Germany > (via Kremer) Schmitz > Japan

Thanks for clarifying, I recall when Frank Kremer offered it to me, I can also confirm it's back in Europe FWIW.

Per my comments in the Miura thread, its great to see Pirelli getting involved on a manufacturing and PR basis with Classic Lamborghinis again, stay tuned for upcoming projects

I remember vaguely a German movie from the late 70s "Paul kommt zurück" (Paul comes back) by Peter Bringmann in which one of the "bad" guys (Heinz Hoenig) drives a white Countach and crashes it into a farm tractor. Is it this car?

No, as I referred to the Miura SVJ of Blatzheim.

One of my good friends and fellow Countach owner had a short video made about his 1988.5 Countach. Beautiful 12,000km all original black beauty.
