I don't know who is more foolish...the "experts" running F1 or the "experts" commenting on it (myself included). There is nothing special about any of the cars now. They are all designed by the same computers running the same data. There are no great design variations created by small teams of humans. We are watching race cars with the individuality of big screen TVs. As for todays drivers, they would collapse in confused exhaustion if they had to actually drive a car by themselves...with maybe the exception of Kimi and Kubica who have driven rally cars.

Does anyone have insight into this from SKY F1 -
What's behind Vettel's run of mistakes?

What's happening off track invariably influences split-second choices on it. There's lot going on off-track with Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari. It's complicated. https://t.co/H0ccyWFuQC

    Who knows.
Perhaps Toto is sowing the seeds for Seb to Merc in 2021 ?

In his place, you have to keep the options open.
    Although, I can't see it.

It shows how Ferrari think when their next hiring is going to be a future prospect in LeClerc, not the prospect of changing their team leader. Seb is clearly seen as a more positive option than the drivers around that could have a look at replacing him. As I have said before, Seb carries the weight not only of Ferrari on his shoulders, but that of Italia, and of Schumacher’s fans everywhere who see Seb as michaels natural successor at ferrari trying to live in his image and drive out from michaels shadow. That pile of stress on your shoulders is tough, and his mistakes in the car (which is mostly a match for Mercedes, it is rarely faster by any real significant factor) are maybe the reaction to this enormous pressure from outside the team, not just inside.

Maybe we should forgive him his errors and support him to the end hoping he rises above them, or maybe Alonso (focussed as he was for the first few years when none at ferrari had a bad word to say about him or his work ethics) would be a better option now that they have passed on ricciardo for whatever reason..... for the moment, our driver and team leader is Seb, and as Tifosi, we should be supporting him absolutely until he leaves or is sacked.

I must confess the battles between Nico and Hamilton were great for the championship. Sadly Bottas won't provide the same challenge.

That inter team battle was exciting because the two of the drivers were a match for each other, neither was better than the other by any significant margin. Bottles, on the other hand, is second tier at best

How are they equal when Ham beat Rosberg 3 to 1?

2 to 1, please get your facts straight, and if there are 2 drivers fighting for three championships, there will always be a 2-1 situation. Rosberg only missed out by mechanical failures in the two he didn’t win, plus he was treated as the dirty stepchild by toto and Niki, yet he still matched elton. Your boy isn’t as good as you seem to make out

It was Murray v Nadal in 3 Grand Slam matches. It was nice and tight, shame about the various mechanical DNF's intervening. But that's motorsport !!!

They were team mates in 2013 which make it 3-1, so again why do you say Rosberg is equal ?

Hamilton and Rosberg were teammates 2013 - 2016. That is 4 seasons. This is very basic math. Of those 4 seasons Hamilton came out the victor 3 times and Rosberg was the victor 1 time. It’s really not that hard

But you are counting the season Elton’s car was ****, and he did ****, that’s not what ktu was aiming for, he was talking about elton and his beating his teammate in a decent car and his championships - still 2-1, basic maths.

This is fun, elton fans that don’t like it when you use their specific interpretations of stats.....

This is a thread about Vettel,

I said nothing about championship wins, and why you keep avoiding the question of why Rosberg is equal ?

Rosberg is his equal, why do you think elton threatened to quit when he ran them both off the road in Spain, he was terrified of Nico, so he forced the team to make Nico a solid number two (phnar phnar, double entendre) or he would quit, its a fact ladies. Hehehe. He on,t won two out of thre becuase the team sabotaged Nico......

Love it, you guys absolutely miss the point that you are on a ferrari site about a Mercedes driver and wonder why you get a bad reaction to your ******** posts about the little whiny brat! Such fun sparring with you, because whatever you say, only your buddies here agree with you, everyone else thinks he’s a ****

Ahhh, you finally get it! Nico smashed elton the one time he ignored his standing team orders, and your whiny little girl was so incensed he tried to ignore team orders and get nicos car taken out by others, and was clearly ready to punt Nico off if he got close enough.. watching him destroy all credibility with true f1fans (don’t worry, I don’t mean elton fans, f1 fans) was hilarious.

I spent a lot of time at f1 weekends in the pits over the years until 2015, and I can tell you, elton is not liked by the majority of people there, from other teams even into his own. If the Mercedes wasn’t so dominant, he would have got his usual run of the mill results ala 2009 thru to 2013, and no one would care about him at all. He is very lucky schumi and Brawn managed to get the Mercedes on the way to a great car into which to place the new turbo engines, because everyone knows elton can’t develop a car to save his life (the guy that hits the pit limiter instead of his drinks bottle, and can’t tell a red light from a green one in the pit lane), so without those that came before him, and excellent engineers, he would be absolutely nowhere, scrabbling around for the lesser places while the class of the field took all the plaudits.
