I searched for a similar thread but couldn't find one - so apologies if one already exists.

I was sitting here looking at a photo of a UK-delivered 330 GT 2+2 (s/n 6739) that's now been in the same family for 52 years, and looks like it has just hit (or will soon hit) 100,000 miles.

Then I wondered how many other Ferraris have been in single-family ownership for a longer period than this. I'm sure someone can beat 52 years, but how high can we go? Let's find out...

I had a conversation with a 275 GTB/4 owner a few years back, he'd bought it in 1971. Paid $6500. Said "if I sold it now, now idea what I'd do, it's always been the car of my dreams!". Can't remember his name though or serial #

Great idea for a topic, Ed!

One that comes to mind for me is 0460AM. In 1954 Willametta Keck Day purchased this 375 MM new from Ferrari. The car passed to her sons and to the best of my knowledge is still with the family.

I'll certainly be interested to learn about other long term family ownerships.

There is a one owner 275 GTB/4 in CA.
And then one should not forget the 250 Boano Cabriolet of Bob Lee in NV, he bought it brand new, it is still in his family.

Feel like a relative newbie in this company at only 42 years of family ownership for mine.

I could be misremembering, but didn't Octane run a piece a couple of years ago on a one owner 212 (possibly a 195 like I said I could be misremembering) in Arizona? The owner was well into his nineties and I remember reading it and thinking wow even longer ownership than the Admiral.

You mean 212 Inter Coupé Ghia Chassis #0213 EL.
Rodolfo Junco de la Vega, a Mexican newspaper publisher resident in San Antonio/TX is the second owner, he bought the used car in the fall 1952 in Milan, Italy, and paid US$ 15'000.
He is now 96 years old.

I remember being at an auction in this century ( hopefully, with time memory fades..) and first and only owner selling a Mercedes 500K cabriolet A that he bought new in 1936....was around 70 years of single ownership and he was present!

1955 Ferrari 750 Monza 0510M was purchased by Jim Hall (of Chaparral fame) in 1956 when it was about one year old. My understanding was that it was owned by the Hall family for the many years it was displayed w/ the gallery of Chaparral cars in the Petroleum Museum in Midland Texas. It went to a new owner in August 2016 - so roughly 60 years w/ the Hall family.

Pretty much all of these cars were acquired in the 1930s or early 1940s and retained until 2017 so roughly 70 - 80+ years with one couple, the Bothwells, while there are no Ferrari's they did own one of just three surviving 1910s Peugeot Grand Prix and two very rare Edwardian Benz

I know an old guy who had his 330GT for about 48 years. He sold it with 3,175 miles on the clock. Showroom condition. The first time I saw it I nearly fainted, my wife helped hold me up.

Another car that comes to mind is Joe's 330 GT 2+2 which Dave Helms helped restore. That was a cool thread. Sadly Joe is no longer with us, but he did own the car for quite some time.
