The longer I watch F1, the less I understand it. Why on earth would you bring either of these guys back. Okay... maybe Wehrlein as he was unproven perhaps... maybe. But Danill? C'mon. You got guys like Ocon and Vandorn who have completely gotten the shaft who could fill those seats far better than either of these two.

With the idiocy at McClaren, the total ineptitude of that team and it's leadership...(I'll reserve comment on Alonso's impact)... I can't believe that Stoffel got anything close to a fair shake in F1. Ocon has done well when he's not being smashed into by his teammate. To not have these two in F1 and yet have the other two... it's just bizarre to me.

Vandoorne is useless. No point in keeping him.

That said bringing back Wehrlein or Kvyat is also pointless. Ocon should get Vandoorne's seat.

To me, Wehrelin's **** attitude deserved him to be dumped.........and Kyvatt just could cut it with the upcoming Red Bull Talent under him. Put Vandorrne in the Torrro Rosso seat

I don't understand the wehrlein move at all.

STR would be better of with kvyat and vandoorne and go from there. Both on race-by-race basis. But Ocon needs a seat. Merc contract keeps him from getting a rival seat I suppose.

Wehrlein didn´t beat pay-driver Ericsson convincingly. Why bother?

Is Ocon still under contract with Mercedes? Do you remember the Monaco GP, when he had to let Hamilton pass? Nobody wants that in their team if Toto doesn´t send a big check first.

Vandoorne hasn´t outqualified Alonso ever. Even Piquet Jr. managed to do that from time to time. Vandoorne´s record in lower formulae is impressive, so I don´t know when that guy broke down. But he already has a license and knows the tracks and the cars. Maybe he could get another chance.

Kvyat showed some promise. He outscored Ricciardo. He already has been at Red Bull´s factory of horror. Better the devil you know...

Vandoorne had a raw deal signing as Number Two at McLaren , then at a low ebb. It must have been a curse.
The team struggled with the Honda engine for 3 years, and suffered management collapse.
The switch to Renault power then highlighted the chassis deficiencies.
Plagued with unreliability, lack of power and the destabilising effect of Alonso, McLaren was hardly a good environment to prove oneself.
In my opinion, Vandoorne never had a fair crack of the whip at McLare and was just making up the numbers.
In another team, he could have done good.

Kvyat showed he could be fast, but lacked discipline, and had too much red mist at times. But the speed was there.
In the long run, he could even become a challenge for Young Max, who knows ? They are from the same mould, IMO.

Mercedes want to keep Ocon on board..and cut Werewolf free..there is a reason for that.

Torpedo, do me a favour, he had his big chance but continued to emulate Maldonado, ask Vettel what he thinks .TR must be really desperate if they take him back.

Vandoorne has an impressive curriculum in the lower formulas, but Alonso is Alonso. I think he deserves that seat at Toro Rosso

Why you say "even Piquet Jr."? Piquet Jr. also had an impressive curriculum before F1, if it was not for his team leaving him without fuel in two races, he would have beaten Hamilton for the GP2 title.

Another driver that should be considered to Toro Ross is Felipe Nasr: destroyed Ericsson, got a 5th place just in his first race, and was responsible for the millions that Sauber got from F1.

I keep hearing people say this but does anyone have the actual stats? Wehrlein bagged points in a Marussia which was pretty damn impressive.

This is so ridiculous....they could have JEV, a driver who almost matched Ricciardo, who has tested for Ferrari and is winning in f.E...he's by far the best option alongside Ocon...

I've just have checked the stats: it was 11-7 in qualifying for Wehrlein. Not bad, but not as impressive as what Leclerc is doing.

I actually don't rate Ericsson too badly. He's just average, but at least he's quite safe and reliable.

Mmm, yes, Nelsinho was not that bad, but for some reason in F1 he didn't get into the groove. The Singaporegate didn't help either.

    Vandoorne is useless.
Kvyat is toxic; sort of like Alonso is toxic.
    Wehrlein is simply lackluster.

Toro Rosso are doing a feasibility study to determine if they are able to switch off the engine from the pit wall, just in case.;)
