I think the new show was okay , looking forward to more and hope the cast gets some chemistry going enough to create real fans.

Deep down I like the reignition of the 308 series used in the first episode and the idea of it boosting our beloved cars a bit further into stardom.

I liked it better than the redone Hawaii Five-O series, and at least there should be some Ferrari action in every episode, which would not be a bad thing.

Frankly, not bad. I do wish the 308 had survived, but we all already knew about that.

This was terrible, was hard to watch. It should have been a continuation of the original like Hawaii 5.0. I feel bad for the new guy, but not even close to Tom Selleck.

Cinematography seemed very good but I’ve seen enough. Might sit Through another episode if I stumble across it surfing channels but won’t go out of my way to see this Magnum series again.

Awful, and I never watched the original. If this makes 5 episodes, I will be shocked. Skidding in a 180 and shooting at badguys twice in one episode is embarrassing. I guess that is his signature move.

    Cancelled! For me anyway.

The QV sounded good when he first started it, it didn’t sound like a regular Euro QV.

    I thought it was....ok...
I’ll check it out again. Absolutely loved the 308 scenes and wish they hadn’t have wrecked it. Even it it made the occasional guest appearance. That alone would have kept me watching !

Dwhite he actually only did the 180 skid once as the first one was just something the author made up. But...Yeah I said out loud “ oh come on!!” When they did it in the 308 and then he jump and grabbed on to the chopper. That was just to much!

I saw the preview - Rick, TC and who? Okay this dude is like the red-shirt in the away team on Star Trek who you know right off ain’t gonna be beaming back up with the gold and blue shirts. But honestly I don’t know what you guys expected, the original Thomas never had any respect for the Ferrari, it was basically a stolen car through the whole series. In the opening scene of the first episode he literally unlatched and threw the targa top away before the infamous Bermuda grass burnout. That’s the real reason you never saw it again.

so, is it just a bad TV series? If yes, I'm happy the 308 disappeared in the first episode… ;)

    ciao

It was never going to be like the original, I get it! My expectations were low and I actually liked it, I will watch at least one more. Loved the scenes with the 308, made me smile!

I just watched first half, will try it again. So the entire halo jump was so over the top, but then it turned out just to be the book story. whew, I was relieved, but then he shows up at house to save friend being put in an ambulance and the drivers are firing full automatic at him in the Ferrari. so wait, what do you do, as the ambulance pulls away you fire a few pea shooters at your friend in the ambulance. it lost me that very moment for good. luckily it doesn't have much competition on TV right now.

Apparently Magnum can make a car explode with a sidearm. He did it two other times.

It was different because it had to be.

This isn't 1980 anymore. The characters and story line etc are not going to be like they were before and I get that. Times change. I can just do without the superhuman CGI ******** and the inevitable sexual tension between Magnum and a female Higgins.

Some things COULD have stayed the same.

I agree! lots of "over the top" scenes but thats what we are used to now so I can over look some of it but it will be very hard for me to avoid watching this due to my obsession with the original series. One thing I really enjoyed was the "opening theme" remake. That was pretty sweet!

I do not watch much TV, especially series shows, and wanted to like Magnum. My views match most here, not worth my time.

My only complaint with that part is that it was not long enough!

It was entertaining enough for me to watch again. That's about all I can say for it, other than the Ferrari content was good and at least the 488 will be back next episode. I do like that the cars were used in some action rather than just background. I like it better than Hawaii 5.0, I watched a couple of seasons of that before it got a little too stupid to be entertaining, hopefully this doesn't go that way.

Of course it's not going to be the old Magnum, but at least it could have some personality. Selleck's character was engaging and fun, this guy is just kinda boring. If the next episode is like this one I'm out.

Yes, I caught that to. That sound was definitely dubbed.

Yes, not the old show. The old show was always tongue in cheek. That's what made it both funny and engaging. I'll stick to watching reruns of the old show on Cozi TV, thank you.
