I disagree with this assessment. At one time, this was a VERY informed and informative forum. The driver polarization has dramatically changed things over the years and it's quite a different place now. It has seemed to cool down a little so there is some semblance of civility, but nothing like the community it was during the height of the Schumacher era. I guess the tone started to change when Alonso/Renault came on the scene.
I personally think it would be nice to consign this 132 page train-wreck of a thread into the trash bin, and any of (other single driver attack threads.) It's very clear that are not "all in fun" and just create rancor on both sides.
its amazing that most of the 'suck threads' feature pretty decent drivers, okok stroll might prove to be the exception . i think folks generally get much too much het up about all this stuff. if you feel the anger welling up just come over to the Grid Girls
Just looking for a stat... I think this is up to date? Vettel vs Hamilton in total win? Michael Schumacher holds the record for the most Grand Prix victories, having 91 times (68 poles). Lewis Hamilton is second with 70 wins (79 poles) and Sebastian Vettel is third with 52 wins (55 poles).
Yes this bothers me also for a majority of bans issued here. F1 can be highly emotional for a lot of us, and sometimes people overreact or whatever, but typically most (95% of them) behave perfectly fine in any and all subforums. A section ban (obviously based on the severity of the ''offense'') is more appropriate 90% of the time. First time I've ever seen anyone banned for using the word *******. Ever. {Video Removed}
I literally just banned someone for repeated profanity filter circumvention and then you post a similar word in a video while commenting on it. I shall assume you are requesting a ban too. Request granted. Regards, Andrew.
I think Moretti will tell you I'm not a snowflake, and I'm sure as hell not a "millenial" or a millennial, or any other "ial." This forum is a haven for Formula 1 aficionados, not FERRARI Formula 1 fans alone. It's title is simply, "F1" not "Ferrari fans only - F1." Sure we're FerrariChat, but there are discussions here every day about two dozen brands, and within the F1 forum, that should be no different. The problem is, much like the P&R section, the majority feels it can run roughshod over the minority opinion, and that if they beat on them long enough they'll go away, and the single marque will get the attention it deserves without distractions like discussions about the team or individual drivers who are actually leading the championship. Well, that's not gonna happen. And the sooner all of you guys understand and accept that this forum is open to discussing ALL the drivers and cars, the easier it'll be for you, and the better we can all get along. I am not suggesting you can't be passionate about Ferrari, because who isn't passionate about the cars and drivers. What I am suggesting is attacking the folks posting is wrong headed, no matter what team or driver you support. Attacking the brand, driver, cars, tires, or the friggin' exhaust note, all fair game. Attacking the guy posting something you disagree with by calling them snowflakes or some other disparaging remark? not so ok. So, before you all go off on a rant about moderators, take a look at what YOU are posting. Is it about the car, the driver, or the last guy who posted. Only one of those posts, barring some crazy content, will get you jammed up. D
Team orders. Hamilton accepts lead, gets win. I tried to imagine Hamilton breaking Team Orders and giving Bottas back the lead. Yes, I know, crazy talk. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
It's crazy because it would not logically accomplish anything. Let's not be naive about what team orders are all about.
My subscription allows me to to acces this area, and I’m pretty sure I’m allowed to express an opinion on it as long as I don’t break the rules, which I’m pretty sure I haven’t. But, in a way you’re right. I don’t bother coming here often, but it seems to me that it’s always the Ferrari defending / supporting posters who are the ones who get banned. Presumably a ban usually only happens after someone makes an official complaint? If that’s the case then the Hamilton lovers seem to be particularly thin-skinned, no? I’ve been pretty critical of Kimi (I’m sure there’s a Kimi sucks thread somewhere) yet while people there express strong opinions they don’t run off to the mods asking for a ban. Why is that? Or, perhaps more to the point, the mods don’t feel the need to run around imposing bans left right and centre anywhere except in threads that are critical of (their guy) Hamilton. Anyway, just ban moretti from this section if you feel you have to and let him be his usual entertaining self in the other, less snowfl.... sorry, sensitive sections.
This may be the F1 section and everyone is welcome and entitled to come here but what everyone who does must remember they come to an F1 section on a Ferrari fan site so they have to accept that if they do not support Ferrari then us tifosi will not be pleased and will speak our mind about it. This is no different if a Manchester fan goes to a another foot ball club and starts saying how good Manchester is at that club he will be spoken down, does he really think his comments will be welcomed. We are a passionate bunch about Ferrari and all things Ferrari. Why is there no dedicated Mercedes or Renault F1 site? Reason they are not as passionate about their team, yet we have to keep that passion under control so as not to upset those who do not share/have the passion.
Haha. Well Multi 21 definitely was entertaining. Vettel breaking orders to give Webber some payback and get the win just a bit opposite though relative to a hypothetical Hamilton regifting Bottas the lead yesterday. Bottas has done a great job for Hamilton this year, playing a tremendous rear guard at times. Heck, look how he handled the start yesterday to help Hamilton stave off Vettel. Bottas won pole and could have kept the lead for the win. Personally, I thought Bottas deserved to finish on top of the podium. Yes, it was the smart team move to help secure Hamilton's 5th title and even Seb called it a "no-brainer". 50 point lead better than 43, etc, etc. But really I suppose I'm glad the thought didn't enter Hamilton's mind as it might have made him slightly likeable to me.
I see no more reason to ban Moretti at this time than at any other time I've been here. (Now how's that for leaving room for interpretation?) And generally, yes we respond to "reports" on a thread. Unfortunately, once we look and respond here, then we're subscribed and get an email for every subsequent post. Unfortunately for those posting in the thread who might otherwise remain anonymous had we not been subscribed. So, when Moretti, or any other member, posts in THIS thread, I get an email. (JM, you know I'm not picking on you, right?) I think the bans would seem disproportionate, because the ratio of Ferrari Supporters:all others is about 700:1, that just makes it look worse, but in reality they are pretty evenly doled out. My question to you was not rhetorical, so I'm appreciative of you taking the time to answer. P&R often annoys the snot out of me, but I still post there, and my opinion is clearly not the majority opinion there, I'm drawn there, like a moth to the flame. I think F1 has that effect as well for some users. D
Elton - I have met him, he’s a complete prat, and has as much charisma as the ****ty car of the same name... total knobhead, in the vernacular of a scouser! Elton sucks
