Got a chance to run my car today, P7 feel very right on this car, softer in a better match kinda way, comfy and sharp, better easyer steering, always felt the zero,s where overhwelming on this somewhat ligt car,did not do any drifting, lol, but very happy.also my Fan uppgrade lovered the temp aprox 1/8 on the scale, wich now puts it down closer to the 1/2 mark than 3/4 mark,in 95 degree weather, highly recomended, also George Evans did a great job on my radiators, Car is amazing, after 11 years of ownership the grin remains,

Did the QV FI cars originally come with the same tires as the downdraft?

    Hello,

Would you have the reference of the fans you used? Are they direct replacements?
    All the best,

Hey Nils, did you ever notice if your fuse box in the trunk heats up a lot or not? My buddy’s car has the heat issue that has been discussed before (Mike,Raymond) - I think changing to new fans like yours would help tremendously by them pulling less amps. Have you checked for a difference?

I did a quick rebuild of my box a few years back, for this reason, partley melted wires and fuses, terrible factory job, did a new fuse block conn set up,no problem ever since(see picture) Before innstalling the new fans,i did a fast do it yourself bench test On my workbench, both fans rigged up in a wooden frame, with a fuse holder and an on /off switch, noticing by turning new fans by hand, they had slightly more resistance, also a tad heavyer, this is what i found, old fans(1100cfm flow aprox) would start up on a 10 amp fuse, and keep running, blowing as expected. New fans(1600 cfm aprox) needed 20 amp fuse for initial start up,but would run on a 15 amp fuse,a did this by switching the two fuses while the fan was still spinning, my guess a 12 amp would keep it running, also the air flow was amazingly stronger, huge difference. Long story short, they pull slightly more amps than the old original fans, But, i noticed the car needed only Two fans most of the time, all four only while ideling sitting still for a period(my car is factory wired with left rear and right front fan kicking inn first, at aprox 1/2 up the scale, then 1/2 line later the left front and right rear kicks inn) with the old factory fans, all four would always run, beeing my temp was alway running that much higher, conclusion, my car now runs @ a much cooler temprature.

None of the Countach except for very hot countries ever needed 4 fans, I never understood why they installed also on the swiss version 3 fans (not four).
With the upgraded fans of the 25th model you are always on the save side, 1600cfm is far enough, even in hot conditions. In less hot conditions they VA10 series is also sufficient, this series has 1230cfm and uses much less amps. I hope my site is still accurate: http://www.countach.ch/fans.html

Very true,my car would be just fine with 2 of these new fans, As i mentioned, the last 2 fans only kicked inn sitting ideling for a period at mid 90 or so outside air temp.

Raymond, are the cars fitted with 2 fans both rear mounted(behind the radiators ) pullers? Or staggered as in left side behind, pull. Right side in front, push,? Also on the swiss version, where is the third fan located, thanks

2 fans setup was always two pullers, 3 fans had a pusher on the right side where also the thermostat switch is mounted into the radiator.
