My opinion is not taking the car is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Ferrari is still a small manufacturer and these things happen. And they are acknowledging your hardships by making offers to you. I would accept their offers and enjoy your summer- rather than steaming about how you cancelled your order because they were too slow- you can go on holiday and enjoy your summer and the time will go by quickly and then you'll have your car. Just the way you want it and some extra memories they threw in.
Right , deal done. Lusso T for 2 week summer break, TBN Ferrari for Goodwood Revival, and 2 (count'em) places on Ferrari pilota sport course at Fiorano. We get the green goddess in October. Good work by the dealer, redemption from FNE. Further, my brief scan of alternatives reminded me that there is really no alternative to a Lusso other than another kind of Lusso, so I guess we were always going to end up around here. By the way, PJ72, call it a "whine" if you like, I prefer calling it "a expression of disappointment followed by successful negotiation towards a mutually acceptable settlement". Semantics I guess? Thanks all, for your support and comments, means a lot !
This is the car the dealer lent us for 2 weeks. Rather nice I thought... CDF with charcoal alcantara daytona seats. It was great to try out the car around the single track lanes that surround our property. I had worried it would be too wide, or that the often necessary reversing (when meeting an on coming vehicle) would be difficult in such a big car. It wasn't. As expected, it smashed the distance stuff, relaxing or exciting on demand. Roll on October. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you. I really think the Lusso, in both it’s incarnations, occupies a unique place in the car world. Where is the competition ?
I guess some would say things like the Panamera or maybe M6GT or AMG CLS, but I don't think so. This is a Ferrari first and foremost. Yet, it is (relatively) discrete, and like you said so well: relaxing or exciting on demand.
Mine has gone into the shop for a battery issue (probably). I miss it badly after 2 days. This car has got right under my skin. And it has no competitors, I really can’t think of one.
Got to love Ferrari, still waiting for the third production picture, and waiting and waiting. Then the dealer gets an email this morning : ETA at UK port October 12. Like Tomorrow
Same thing happened to me...My Portofino has been delivered and I only have the first picture...I think the recent delays in production have caused lots of confusion in the process Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Care to expand on reason for production delays? I know in the US very few 812’s have been delivered. Speculation is most have gone to China where there is a greater margin for Ferrari.
