Must be one of the pre-series cars. Beside the pre-series car(s) Lamborghini officially did not build any M1 (- as far as I know)! I had two of them: the 1st was an early model that was crap enginewise. The 2nd car later was fantastic! No other car from the 70s had better handling qualities than the M1.
Neal Campbell saw the 1978 prototype of the BMW M1 at the Lamborghini factory. He shared those photos also: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That’s one mice looking miura. I’ve never seen a car that looks as good as it does in so many colors. As for the bmw, how much Lamborghini DNA is In the original?
Agreed, the Miura perhaps more than most cars and it's a pity the factory color-range was not more extensive.
Doesn`t matter - with a M1 you could drive circles around any period Ferrari and/or Lamborghini in corners. But on straights its engine was not strong enough to keep on with both Italian cars.
Is this Miura #4860 in its first SVJ livery? I heard there was a color photo of it in a Japanese magazine published several years ago. I think I just found it... For sure it matches the description we know of that car: "Black, white leather with black cloth inserts, hexagonal wheel center nut" Anybody got more photos of it? I couldn't find the German magazine from 1973 with the "Der letzte Mohikaner" article showing pics of #4860 and Hubert Hahne's brother. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm very happy to have sold this car to Dirk, it won best in Class Miura S last year at Neufchatel concours of Elegance and again one more award at Dyck Castle… I have a similar one in quality actually...
Yes, it is #4860 in its black SVJ livery. Here are other pictures - already posted on F-Chat - of #4860 when painted black : Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
SVJ 4860 with Hubert Hahne below. I personally spoke to Hubert about this car. Motorcar Klassik gave me the copyright to use images of the car for the aforementioned article for my Miura book. The car is now back in Europe Image Unavailable, Please Login
We posted at the same time, that's my image of Hubert Hahne with 4860 when he owned it, happy to see you repost it, meanwhile I never knew the car in the harbor images in Japan was 4860 as there are some detail differences, is it confirmed those images are also 4860?
Probably #3111, VPM demo car... as it has the same stickers in the movie as in the reportage... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Olivier, According to one of your previous posts here on this Miura thread (post n°9587 - may 2011) you affirmed and explained to all of us here that this yellow car was #3315 ?... Not sure to all understand and in the end, what is the truth ?... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Merci beaucoup ! & Thanks a lot! Amazing to see you two replying together with the same cool b&w photo that I failed to see before. About the one seen at the harbor in Japan, it is another car: Painted dark blue with black interior, it was imported in Japan by 1977 and was quickly repainted orange. I still don't know its VIN. Overlooked by many historians claiming it was just a replica, I personally think it might in fact be another factory SVJ we simply didn't know. I've got some photos of it painted orange that I will share tomorrow if I can. There are no rivet around the hoods however... but just like SVJ #4934... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Found this online and thought it's really beautiful. Oh, the car is pretty nice too Image Unavailable, Please Login
A recent info leads me to believe the car is "probably" (as I wrote) #3111 than #3315 as I wrote 7 years ago… you know within 7 years, new source shows up… what was demonstrated at a time was may be correct with the infos available… but as I wrote it at "at conditional", you can eventually developp your theory in case you disagree...
