Joe - thanks for posting this. Interesting how many tool kits seem to have missing and/different pieces than what is illustrated here. I suppose that just reinforces the fact that much of what was done at the time was rather inconsistent.
Image Unavailable, Please Login Questions about original key sets: - How many sets came with a car at delivery? - What did each of the three keys in a set do?
Although the tool kits sometimes changed from variant to variant, for the Downdraft they were basically the same, if you see differences it's likely because components have been misplaced or removed. 2 sets. 3 keys - ignition, doors, and lockable gas-cap.
Joe, or anyone else who knows for certain - can you please answer the following? - Are the two circled areas in this photo indicator (aka, “warning”) lights? - If so, what for? - When do they illuminate and what color are they when lit? Thank you. Image Unavailable, Please Login
If I understand things correctly, the downdraft has three different ventilation controls versions throughout production. Please correct me if I’m wrong: Version I - a carryover from the 5000S - 85 to early 86. Image Unavailable, Please Login Version II - Early 86 to 88.5. Image Unavailable, Please Login Version III - 88.5 to beginning of Anniversary model (also used throughout Anniversary production). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does anyone have pdf files of the various downdraft owners manuals they would be willing to posy here?
Whilst waiting for the right car, if you are interested, I'd recommend you collect any & all tangible Downdraft literature out there, owner's manual, model brochure, press release, and more besides, the available material is a wealth of information Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
From what I have seen, that's correct *except* RHD models - the 88.5 and later versions retained the Version II analogue controls.
Thanks, Joe. I do have the Pasini book, the lamborghini Revista Review books and the sales brochure, not the press kit. As for the owners manual, I was hoping someone may have a pdf version of the various versions.
Here's another quest: I'm looking for a Nero/Bianco Downdraft, late 1986/early 1987, wingless, same as shown Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
80s Superstars In the mid-80s, the Countach Downdraft and 288 GTO represented the best of Lamborghini and Ferrari, and soon that'll be 35 years ago. The GTO has been celebrated with multiple Reunions (we staged a world-record event GTO 25th Anniversary celebration in 2009), and now I think the Downdraft deserves a first-ever Reunion event Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
