This has been a recurring thorn in the side of the automotive design community for many, many years. A retired GM designer whom I used to work for is curating the upcoming exhibit. There will be production cars along with automotive design art. Should be a great exhibit.

Most of my favorite car designs are retro-modernist. BMW Z3, Ferrari 456M, and now the amazing 812 Monza. It's just what I like most. Some modern designs are nice too: 458 Italia, F12, Hurrican.

The last Ferrari I loved was the 550. Less love of the newer designs going forward.....
This one could bring me back (with just a little massaging of some heaviness below the beltline....).

Apropos of that Ares design; I love the rear view, and only ‘like’ the front end. I find this to be true of many of the car designs I see around (my R8 being another that comes to mind). Aside from any personal idiosyncrasies, might there be some logical/rational design-related reason for this? jm2?

Less overwrought and most importantly, no hideous side surfacing going on. To me, all of the side surfacing stuff is whats ruining auto design.

Just think of it as a phase they're going through.
Just like art went through it's Rococo and Baroque periods ;)
