It was a fun Countach to own & drive, definitely one of my favorites, a bit on the small side inside for me, the gentleman I sold it to years ago adores it, and I'm sure of this because I've tried unsuccessfully to buy it back on no fewer than 3 separate occasions, we've since sold him a fantastic Miura to keep it company. The color of the Miura? Blue, of course.

My all time favourite pic of a Countach is one taken in the same photo session, I think... Could you say where did you pick it from?
    Thanks.

Periscope and roof vent! Anyone remember a kit with that? I remember a maybe one-off lp400 replica...no flares or wing. It was rough and not finished. Posted on one of the these forums 10-15yrs ago.

Here's a real Countach with a blower, which I believe I've shared before.

It's a Nero/Rosso 1983 LP500S imaged in the Pimpin' 80s somewhere in Texas, complete with USA DOT nonsense, the finest pin-striping, side-skirts, and dragster engine.

Surely the poster child for the ultimate in automotive vandalism bestowed upon a Countach, exhibit A for the fact that money does not buy good taste, yet I can't help feeling sure the owner was very proud of this Frankenmod

If you are thinking they saved the Lamborghini V12 jewel and replaced it with a USA big block for this experiment, you're wrong.

    They modified it.

I don't have the final specifications or output data, but I know cutting & welding was involved

    From an aesthetics/design perspective-horrid. From an engineering standpoint-impressive. From a Radwood-esque historical perspective-totally radical. :D

From one extreme to the other.

Our 1120192, which we took to one of the first Quail Motorsports events in 2004.

This LP400 went early in it's life via Mario & Elvidio Grande (Pittsburgh Auto Palace) to an East Coast gentleman who put it in the family room of his lakeside glass house where it could be seen by boaters on the lake.

I purchased the car in 2003 with just 2,800 miles on the clock from Elvidio Grande who had taken the car back from the first owner after @ 15 years.

FWIW I started looking for a nice Periscope Countach circa 1995 so it took me 8 years to find one I was happy with.

I recommissioned the car and immediately started driving it, all across Southern California, including a 150-mile blast on the freeways with my son for a Road & Track magazine shoot by John Lamm.

It was variously featured in Octane magazine, Road & Track magazine, and Classic & Sportscar magazine, one of the more published LP400 and a nice mostly original car.

After a few years we sold it to the UK, then bought it back a few years later, then sold it again to the USA twice, @ 10 years ago finally landing in a long-term home where it remains to this day.

There is a Countach, I think it is a Lowbody in the Bahamas which had the motor removed and swapped with a Toyota motor.
