They only had the 2018 personalization brochure there. And 2014 too. But I couldn’t take either.

I hadn’t thought to look too closely when I was there, but those must be small, medium and large of the same seat? There is also the new bucket-type race seat nearer the door. They are pretty comfortable too and feel quite similar to the usual racing seat, however you can only order them with 4pt harnesses. Anyone planning to do that?

    I

I have been given a car but 2020 production, very few spiders to be built for UK in 2019. Hard to imagine successor to 488 launched with loads of 488 Pista Spiders overhanging the market, talk about dispiriting. Think 812 v Tdf.

So what happens when there are also 15 new models in 5 years? Where does the exclusivity come from then? If they can't produce these special models quickly enough then they will have a lot less interest when they arrive and a new model is available for order. Seems to me that either Ferrari is stepping on it's dick or people on here are throwing the current car out as junk way too quickly.

Did carbon wheels come up in the conversation or are they still restricted to the Pista coupe edition builds?

It is going to be a great time to be a Ferrari car enthusiast but less so to be an "investor" in new Ferrari cars.IMHO this is a good thing

It did. The official answer is simply demand exceeded production capacity.

Not so sure about that, cars will be less and less affordable and with less certainty of residuals due to a Ferrari capturing as much value as they can. How do clients win ?

I see Ferrari new car pricing having gone through 3 stages this decade:
    1) around 2010-2012. Production cars depreciated, the LE cars stayed flat or slightly lower. eg. 599GTO
    2) during the next few years the LE cars started trading at big premiums eg. 458SA, F12tdf
    3) IPO happens, investors don't want to leave money on the table, so prices go up.

Buyers complain: if they are enthusiasts who not in it to win financially, they are now having to pay a much bigger sticker price to enjoy their hobby. e.g 458 SA vs 488 PS. Instead, if they are speculators, then the free money runs like 458SA, tdf just dried up.

Now the fun begins when this overheated asset market cools down as cheap money disappears. Do you want to be left holding an overpriced 488 SA? It depends on which category of buyer you are.

Am I taking the Pista spider allocation - absolutely yes. Am I getting taken for a ride on the price - also absolutely yes.
