Well that may be more about Marin. I have family in Kentfield/Ross area and assuming u may be too. I am 46 and live on the peninsula but spend time in the city as my son is in HS there. My wife drives an FF and I have an 812 and in sleepy, very diverse HMB and we don’t feel judged but we also are very active in our community both in time and $ and believe we are judged on our actions (both positively and negatively...hopefully more on the positive side). I think Marin county, as a whole, can be a little judgey at times where as the peninsula and farther north less so. I am not making a negative comment on your character as you seem to be a good guy, I just think you have tougher critics up there. However, you do know what they say about Lambo drivers.....just kidding ;). Interesting how 30 miles can be so different.

Hi, thanks for the note, long discussion, difficult online, personally I don’t like to drop my kids of at school in anything that costs as much as one of the teachers homes, knowing full well they commute three hours each day because they can not afford to live anywhere near where they teach. It’s not about being judged, it’s about societal bifurcation. I enjoy the performance I dislike the brand. That’s just me.

Btw HMB has changed :) I was in Woodside for 10 years and kept my fishing boat in HMB, it was all Chevy pickup trucks back then ;) beautiful place, one of my favorites

Just saw your post, and I just got back from my storage warehouse swapping the M3 for the 911. But I will try to get photos at the end of the weekend/early next week.

It sounds like dealers are still pushing Lusso's for Pista allocations. Its hard to get a feel for how widespread that is, but if its common its going to cause FF prices to fall even further when all the barely used Lussos hit the secondary market. I wonder if we will see sub-$100k FFs next year.

I think everyone is realizing what a good deal FFs are right now. It seems they are selling rather quickly now. Since I've been looking, several have sold. My local dealer, Ferrari of Silicon Valley had two that sold in the last month. They have another one now. SF Sportscars had a white one which also sold in the last month. I bought mine at F of SLC and they had 3, now 2 are sold. And sales guy says he has a deal for the third one. All within this last month. And these are only the cars I was looking at. So seems sales are firming up which may slow the depreciation of these a bit??

In my neck of the woods, values on Californias (first batch) and FFs are dropping like a rock, making both cars nothing short of a bargain. A lot of car (most quite recent cars) for roughly one third of what they cost when new. They have been drawing a lot of attention and demand at these low price points. Sales aren't quite as high as I expected, I attribute that to one downside of falling prices: people refrain from buying today if they suspect they can but it next month for even less, so there's a bit of a waiting game going on.

IMHO, really nice specced cars (by nice spec I mean a coherent spec and lots of options) fly off the dealers. Others sit around quite longer, there's simply no shortage of pre-owned Californias and FFs. One things that speaks for itself regarding how nice a California and FF truly are, and one of the best GT Ferraris of all time: lots have high mileage, which goes to show how enjoyable and reliable these cars are.

Keep enjoying in good health and remember that depreciation is nothing but a number. Life is so much more than that. Can you really put a price on the smiles a Ferrari brings to your face during the time you own it?

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

So well said @AlfistaPortoghese ! I also guess when car prices get into the 130k and lower range and age and sometimes mileage builds up, people might be more sensitive to the costs of repair and maintenance. I once saw an FF that needed a new radiator and I forget the costs but it was very expensive.

You want to get a 2014 or newer FF, with the right color combos (no funky colors) and then be sure and get the options everyone talks about, like pano roof, lift suspension with the adaptive headlights, etc. Try and get the more modern radio with apply play (I think that's 2016 and up).

I bought the car. It wasn't mentioned online but the car also came with a novitec exhaust. It's now backup for sale. I needed it for a 3 day road-trip. It can be found at wide world in the next 24 hours

I loved it. I also have a lusso but it was in for service so needed something in the interim that was fun, fast, and had 4 seats so that FF fit the bill.

After toying with the idea of a lusso and a ff and owning a s63 coupe im staying with merc.
Performance are close; comfort, quality, reliability and technology are hands down won by the mercedes with a better price...
Does the lusso and ff perform better ? Yeah but not worth that money at all.
Dont get me wrong; i love ferraris and own one but sometimes got go back to earth and realize the ff/lusso combo is not the best proposition out there.

Maybe but im sorry tech wise, interior wise, price wise and reliability wise the ff or lusso are below par of what a s coupe offers. I own a s coupe and tried many ff before realizing that aside the badge and the driving experience its an overpriced car to me...and pur age is pretty close;) that being said those are anazing cars but 300k amazing that’s a bit nutts to me.

Finally someone speaking the truth. The e63 is just as fast, better equiped, sounds great and more durable. Its not as special but for a daily driver i dont really care.
