I was wondering if anybody had information regarding the silver Testarossa with belonged to Miles Davis which was featured in his 60 Minutes interview with Harry Reasoner.

I seems as though the history of the other Ferraris which belonged to Miles Davis are well documented. One of which a 1967 275 GTB/4 was sold by a local dealer here in Southern California.

The car featured in the interview appears to be a 1987 car with centric wheels.

If I recall that interview, the car was yellow, not silver.

I remember in the 60 minutes interview that Mr. Davis told Mike Wallace (this is as close as I can get the exact quote)

"I called down to the Beverly Hills Police Department and told them that I just bought a silver Ferrari Testarossa and to let the patrol officers know that if they see a black man driving this silver Ferrari, don't assume that it is stolen!!"

Yes will post more pics when she arrives. She joins her younger brother in the same color, although this was never the plan.

Miles if you’re watching, i promise she will sing and stay pretty.

Nice!! That car had some "miles" on it at the time he bought it too :)

Great photo as well. This car was so insane and insanely gorgeous when it was new. Photos like this showing the typical cars on the road help illustrate the era. I still remember as a kid seeing all of those bread-box ugly looking cars on the road like it was yesterday. It made every sports car stand out all the more. Auto design has come a long way since those days.

Just under 20k. The second owner bought it from his estate with about 12k miles.

I had the same setup for awhile, although my 550 was grigio ingrid. Your maranello is about to become a wimpy and boring car once you start getting to know your TR, be warned! :)

She is about to have another mechanical service/restoration on the East Coast, and then to the West this Summer for some fun and publicity. I'm hoping his estate likes and will support a focus on his passion for cars, it's a side of him that has never been properly romanced and told. Here are few pics; with her successor, my 550 (purchased off Fchat, btw, same shade of silver), and our Weber carbureted Superformance Cobra we just put up on BAT, a few from the visit yesterday to see her at Ferrari Long Island, and finally, our friend Dan at Bradan who we dropped in on to see what great work he's up to.

Here is a link to an update, enjoy!

Looking over the booklets and warranty card, signatures are dated may 28 (1987). Two days after his birthday, if I’m not mistaken. Have lots of mechanical restoration pics from Bradan, will post soon.
