Can’t remember the last plate of pasta I had. This was whole wheat penne. The ladies Irish mom can sure make a red sauce though...

I'm in Eastern Washington state for the day. Did Olive Garden last night. Shrimp scampi. It was disappointing compared to the real Italian restaurant I had last week.

Looks good. I haven't either, except I'm meeting my friend for a late lunch/early dinner for Italian. Been craving it.

Olive Garden is NOT Italian food. That's all I'm going to say on the subject. [emoji2]

Leftover chicken soup. But, starting some F-chat chili for tomorrow. Maters getting long in the tooth, so I pureed them. Green peppers, red onion, celery - likewise - diced them - and chucked them into the pot. Williams chili powder. A little red wine. The jus from my last brisket. [emoji39]

Kroger has a sale on chuck roast this week. $2.49/lb. So, I bought a couple. Browned it for a while, then cubed. Added it to sweated veggies.

To channel my inner Guy Fieri "That gravy would taste good on a flip flop!"
    So good looking.

That's one of the many things I miss from growing up with my grandma. She'd get up early and start making a Sunday gravy like that just about every Sunday. I'd always pester her for a taste, and she'd eventually give me a few spoon fulls on Italian bread. [emoji39][emoji39]

With the anchovies! Righteous. I hate when you go to a restaurant and they don't put 'chovies in the Caesar salad. You make that Caesar salad and I'll drive you myself to all the best Tex Mex & BBQ places I know! [emoji2]

I stopped at a little diner on my way home from Eastern Washington. Had a clubhouse. Despite her tattoo's the waitress was really cute!

Should have told her about your pesto pasta. The ladies love a man who can cook! [emoji2]

Chili - final product. Total of 10 hours simmering. Served it Cincinnati style - over pasta and with cheddar cheese. No onions though.

It's one of my wife's favorites. It's been warm the last few days. Over 80 F. But, Kroger had a very good sale on chuck roasts, so I couldn't pass up a deal. $2.49/lb. I bought a few for the freezer and used one for the chili.

Chefs salad tonight. Iceberg lettuce. Cukes. Yellow bell pepper. Pistachios. Fresh grilled tuna. Hard boiled egg.
    Homemade strawberry balsamic vinaigrette.

Had sushi/sashimi and a few different rolls. Local restaurant, not bad. I had a chopped scallop cone, they skimped on the scallops. My goal is to try every Japanese restaurant in town and pick a few favorites. This place didn't make the list.

Sweet tater is right! The bucket looks huge but it's about red solo cup size at the high end. Closer to styrofoam cup. So good!

It's quite good. It's a special treat for me. If I had more time I would be looking for cornbread and mac/cheese!

    Jason,

The tex mex is nothing like we have out here. If you can plan some real Q in as well it's worth the trip. Especially considering we have snow now

Slowly but surely, working my way towards TG. Whipped up a fresh batch of cranberry
sauce last night. Then froze it for the holiday.
