Hi I am taking out my steering rack and in the process both sway bar bolts / studs have broken, they are really rusty and it is difficult to see what they are. They appear to be special bolts with clips. Does anyone have any information on them, where I can buy. No one I have tried has them here in the uk

If you are talking about the U clamp fittings they are 8mm captive bolts held in a flimsy wire cage. As you say they are not available from Ferrari. I found a some on Ebay in the end. Lucky I think. They may fit some Fiats too.

They are the bolts / studs that the u clamp is fixed with. Here is a picture of the hole left by the rusted ones on the drivers side, and the ok ones on the passenger side. They look like some sort of weird captive bolt head, not sure how they provide any strength.

Anyone ever drop one of these in the square hole it is mounted on? If so, is it retrievable?

    dont know; what superformance sell.

after the trauma of a) doing all the bushes and b) trying to find those captive bolts I didnt give it much attention to be honest!

...and yes, you can drop them in.

They seem almost rectangular... the little tabs are supposed to keep them from dropping in, and the rectangularity keeps them from pulling out.
