Good, while you are measuring- what is the depth of the head - the drawings show what i think is overall length. I looked on e bay and the male screw is available in various lengths

Simple, about 15 mins work. The screwdriver slot is going to take a bit of doing as the smallest end mill cutter i have is 3 mm and i need to get a 2 mm one to finish it off. How many of the short and the long version do you need. I will knock you up what you need to get your roof working, but i am not going to knock up a pile of extras . You can either spray paint them or get them cadmium plated locally.

Hi folks- i now have the milling cutter to cut the screwdriver slot, how many of these does everyone need to get their cars sorted and i will get them made in mild steel, you can either paint them or get them plated. Ta

Thanks Mike, I'm all set but don't mind extras. If you can spare 4 pairs? Also insist you charge me whatever you deem fair for your work.

    Good on you mate.

Mike it sounds like there is quite a bit of interest here across the pond. I got a message saying it would be easiest for you to just send the batch to one person and that person distributes to other folks here in the states. I'm happy to have you send them to me and I can send them out to folks.

Mike, as I said before, I insist you come up with a charge for your services, after all, we are not communists. :)

To those interested, once Mike has determined the cost per screw - I'm thinking we paypal him. Then you can send me a self-addressed stamp envelope (i.e. Priority Mail w/ tracking), happy to put your part in there and send back to you.

Hope this sounds reasonable to all.

Nice work! I see more and more that spare part will no be available anymore and it is a fact that things wear out or are in progress of metal fatigue. You can only open de hood so many time before it needs replacement parts. Super work Mike with that I mean your time and tools and knowledge to do so. This keeps are rides on the road

Fine by me, i just need to know the total to make- cost wise its postage plus say £2 each as i can get the steel for nothing. You might want to think about getting them cadmium plated locally as 1 batch and then post them on

I don’t have a need yet but I wouldn’t mind having some on the shelf. This is great work and you should charge a fee. While I understand, appreciate and support the idea of fostering the Mondial brotherhood, you should at the very least cover your costs, plus.

Send them to the local metal plating company, only small items so will be cheap. You can cadmium plate, galvanise, chrome, lots of different finishes these days

Okay ready to take this show on the road. Please respond here in the next couple weeks how many you want. The cost is $5 per screw (I'll adding shipping and plating extra). Once I get the final tally, I'll pay mike32 out of my pocket, have him ship over here, and then I'll get them plated and distribute to interested parties. I'll set the deadline end of November.

As you can see there is no money to be made here by any parties - just the kindness of mike32's heart to help us all out that need one.

    Cheers

Edit: Price was a bit ambitious...

That makes sense as easier for me to make one of the sizes all at the same time, i managed to get 2 foot of mild steel bar for nothing which keeps the cost down

I am making these up to help people get the roof working, not so you have have a full set of spares. What do you need to get it working, as i am not making money from these.

Mike32, let me suggest a different approach, feel free to charge higher as these are bespoke custom made pieces. Raise the price to a level you see fit to make it worth your time.

Or create a set amount and I will divide equally to those interested. Either way you have already gone above and beyond and anything you offer is appreciated!!!
